Born in Stratford Ontario under the influence of the Bard no doubt
was 'writing' at an early age in the attic with the stub of a pencil and some discarded
siblings primer. Moved to Brantford at the age of three where he quickly became his
mom's copilot, learning all the streets and secret hollows.
Roaming the woods in gangs of bicycled cowboy wannabes and living hockey dreams out on the road and the rink on the Crescent in the winter.
Played rep hockey till overcome by rock music and ethereal influences.
Moved out west at the age of 23, wherein the real education began,
20 years of quality community theatre , the beginning of the singer-songwriter/
MC known as Bill Levity. Many years playing at the Island Folk Fest, Providence Farm, Duncan, as well as up and down the island, coffee shops, pubs, community halls in all manner of solo, duos, trios and full on band incarnations.
Has been very lucky through his long association with Longevity John Faulkner,(originally the shapeshifting 'Longevity John's Musical Treats', now ensconced for five years at the Duncan Garage Showroom), yes lucky to open for the likes of Stephen Fearing, Blackie and The Rodeo Kings, Pat Temple, Willie P Bennett, Lynn Miles, Fred Eaglesmith, Joe Hall, Eugene Smith, Rebecca Campbell, Ian Tamblyn, Daisy Debolt ....etc.
Has run a spoken word evening , monthly at the DGS for the last year and a half, searching for the improvised beat creation madness, searching for a wave.
All in all it's been a fine musical and theatrical education and a grand life in the Cowichan Valley, with three years transplanted in Sooke and then returned. Currently parenting a beautiful 16 year old daughter; fior which no preparation or education will suffice.
