‘Lewis Cohen is one of the best of the new generation of British acoustic blues musicians. A fine singer and guitarist, Lewis really understands the music that he plays and that comes through to the audience when he performs his own versions of blues classics by Robert Johnson, Bukka White and other legendary bluesmen, on his 1930s National guitar’ Michael Messer - July 2008
'Soon, Lewis Cohen took to the stage accompanying himself on acoustic guitar. What a powerful voice! He played a wide range of songs from the greats such as "They're Red Hot" for an opener, followed by "Catfish Blues". Needless to say the Robert Johnson songbook was visited and we heard "Travellin' Riverside Blues" and "Terraplane Blues". Lewis's slide work has to be seen and heard to be believed. Tom Waits and Lowell George songs came to life and one of my favourite Muddy Waters' tracks "Can't Be Satisfied" was in fact very satisfactory' - Blues In Britain Magazine

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
Jesus wept Lewy - I just listened to Man That Aint Like Me - that voice just keeps getting better. It's been a while - looking forward to seeing you again in October. Tim
Oh Lewis, Lewis, you are a turd. To think otherwise would be absurd. I know this fact you will deny, But Lew, sweet Lew, thats a lie. A turd, a turd, thats what you are. The King of turds, from near and far. Turd-a-lish-ous and Turd Supreme, A turd topped with nuts and smothered in cream. Oh a turd, thats what you are little Lew, Admit it Turd Face...Im only being honest with you.
