Lewis Anderson has been performing since he was 9 years old. His grandmother might say that he started earlier. She used to ask him to dance on the table for her when he was four. She called him her "little show man".
When he was 9 he entered a talent show in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at a block part. He won that show, hosted by Chuck Leonard, by singing two James Brown songs. His performance was broadcast on the radio, and he has been performing ever since. He performed around the neighborhood and entered talent shows whenever he heard about them.
He began seriously playing music at 16 years old on the bass guitar with a gospel group the Voices of Thunder. He was the original bass player and eventual baritone singer with them for over twenty years.
He began to study at York College, where he received his BA in 1983. He began teaching general music and chorus to middle school children in 1988. Then in 1999 her received his Master's Degree in Music Education from Five Towns College.
In 1997 he answered his call to the ministry and preached his first sermon. That same year he graduated from Community Bible Institute with a Masters in Theology.
Lewis is currently serving as the minister of music at the Elmendorf Reformed Church in Harlem, USA, while teaching general music and chorus in Long Island, New York.
He is also splitting his remaining time performing with two local New York Bands "Positive N-ergy" and "Showtime".
