  • Bio

The story starts sometime in the mid 1850's when his great-great-great grandfather was attacked by Indians going over a mountain pass in Colorado. He jumped in a river to escape. The story continues through the generations. A little luck and the spirit of adventure passed down making one lifetime seem like many. Lewis Childs has busked the streets of Europe, played in an Irish Folk Music combo, done field recordings in Brazil, performed with a high flying acrobatic music and dance ensemble headed by a Brazilian Master of Capoeira, and has traveled to Japan with the World Music folk duo "World of Songs." Lewis Childs often draws upon these influences during his solo performances, and has returned to his roots writing songs that explore the bounds of what is possible. His songs offer compelling stories, diverse perspectives, and messages of hope. Oh, his great-grandma was a semi-professional whistler.

  • Sounds Like

A voice that springs naturally from an old soul - guitar that sounds like it could be two different instruments - steady Bass, flowing harmonic changes and syncopated toe tapping rhythms. This is music born out of the traditions of Bossa, Blues, Folk and various World influences creating a sonic texture that explores the bounds of what is possible?
