From wooden stages in the long shadows of the historic Ryman Auditorium, spirits of past icons influenced the drive and dedication of another soul determined to carry the message and tradition of Country music to a new generation. Lewis Copeland represents the blood and heart of those that once shared the same weathered planks while bridging the genre to the new movement committed to the values and simplicity of Country music. As an only son of Appalachian parents, leaving a small Ohio town to answer the call of Highwaymen singing in his head was an easy choice for a pilgramage to sacred honkytonks, alleys and studios where inspirations are still heard and admired. Many who know him will say Lewis Copeland has been on a journey to Nashville and stardom since birth. Since his arrival, Lewis has demonstrated that he is an ambassador for Country music, playing venues from The Great Lakes to Cancun, Mexico, while merging Country lyrics with Pop, Rock, and Blues in order to reach everyone. Delivering lyrics passed down from those that came before emboldened Lewis to express his creativity by sharing his own songs and personal style. High energy Honky Tonk Princess merges country lyrics with a tempo embraced by fans transitioning from Pop or Rock to Country. She's Got It Going On slows it back down to share every man's dream of spending time in the heat of a summer day with a soul mate. If I had Wings reflects a deeper struggle of chasing dreams while dealing with life's struggles; often just wanting to fly away. His arrival, songwriting and style aligns Copeland with a new generation of Country fans that respect and appreciate past artists while continuing to find new messengers.
