About me: My name is Lewis Crofts and I am a writer based in Brussels. I have an unhealthy obsession with the Austrian iconoclast Egon Schiele. Some of his most touching and celebrated works are below. My novel based on his life entitled "The Pornographer of Vienna" came out in June 2007. For more details, click here [www.lewiscrofts.com]
Reviews
The Guardian “A bold reimagining of the short, frenetic life of Egon Schiele, Crofts's debut doesn't shrink from depicting the squalor of his existence and powerfully evokes his uncompromising talent.”
Metro “Confidently imagined...insightful...Crofts has written a sparkling debut that is as enlightening as it is entertaining.”
Jon McGregor, author of ‘If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things’ “Utterly engrossing. I found myself drawn into Schiele's reeling world with its reek of wet paint and sex.”
Financial Times “This book is thoroughly researched, and Schiele’s short life and the morals of Austro-Hungarian society are well described. The author is bewitched by his subject’s decadence and by the period’s historical detail.”
Liz Jensen, author of ‘Ark Baby’ and ‘The Ninth Life of Louis Drax’ “Lewis Crofts' poignant debut captures the turbulence, the vividness and the tragedy of Egon Schiele's life with rare skill and empathy.”
NUDE Magazine "What really makes this novel stand out is Lewis Crofts' imaginative and intimate telling of the tale. The book practically reeks of wet paint and lascivious goings-on.”
Vogue "Persecuted, imprisoned and spurned by society. Schiele's is a dramatic story."
Ruth Atkins, Fiction buyer at Borders UK “Crofts writes with a great sense of time and place in this arresting novel.”
The Times of Malta "Mr Crofts's figurative language makes The Pornographer of Vienna an entertaining novel. By combining fact with his own literary creativity, Mr Crofts paints pictures of a daring young man in a conservative society."

Happy Holidays! Hope you’re enjoying the season so far. Seems it has been quite some time since I spent some time on Myspace. I have been busy altering my website at www. tonycowger. com to reflect my newest efforts in the freelance and ghost writing markets and focus less on my own novel. Anyway, I hope the rest of your year is wonderful and that the new year holds all the abundance you want. If you or someone you know is in need of some writing help please send them my way at www. tonycowger. com. (For any help I receive from my Myspace friends I am offering a 10% finders fee to say thank you for helping out a friend so be sure to write and let me know in case your friend forgets to tell me. If you hire me yourself, that 10% would be taken off what you pay so, either way, you win.) I have experience in writing sales ads/presentations, non-fiction and, of course, fiction. Thanks and happy holidays!
Fuck punctuality, happy birthday! The stateside edition of the book has been getting prominent display round the finer booksellers here in NYC, and not without reason. Here's hoping it troubles the chart-compilers any day now!
Hey Lewis Crofts This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Or not.
Let me challenge you: Download the album 'Walkthrough' - it's on the top of my page - and listen to it exactly hm... 4 times :) Read the lyrics. It's mandatory.
I give you a solemn promise that you will feel, see and hear things that will make you smile deep within. Or not. Tell me if it doesn't happen so I can switch to selling ice-cream.
If you need a downloading assistance, send me a message.
A Man who is born in a cave and never leaves the cave will only know the cave. The views that we all cling so tightly to and the belief systems that we fight to defend are all based on perspective. However I must admit that I am impressed at the wielding of such words that may change a mans opinion I am not impressed that in our darkest hour mankind still can not find a way to put aside his differences. Having said that it is time to skip the mashed potato's and dive directly into the meat of the subject matter. It is my humble opinion that ever since mankind has controlled fire he has had the desire to defend the burning embers of his belief system. Out of fear of the unknown we label, belittle, kill and prosecute those who challenge our illusions. Unfortunately the strongest example of this indifference is organized religion which has taken more lives and fueled more wars than any other form of hypocrisy. It saddens my soul to think that western civilization has forged its own propaganda on the anvil of lies. Words will never bring the forest's back to the native Americans, nor will it undo the silver tongue's of those who promote such lies and depiction in the name of truth. Countless examples of trickery and deception demonstrate how mankind will stop at nothing to fill the empty void in our hearts that some call greed. In the end, the wise man knows that he knows nothing. I stand somewhere in between the barbarism and the majesty of humanity with my own set of labels which i have been taught. All I ask is this: In a fear driven world ask yourself....What am i really afraid of? I believe that we live in a world of illusions and we are the magicians trying to convince someone the BUY into our so called truth. I promote neither candidate in the upcoming election rather i pose that both are puppets to the grand illusion merely caring out the will of the Illuminati (the 13 families that rule this earth and have done so since the dawn or civilization)
