About me:

Saturday 11 July
12 to 7pm
Mountsfield Park, SE6

Leave your tent and your wellies at home - this great summer festival is right in the middle of South East London. This great FREE festival just keeps growing and has an eclectic line up to rival any of your paid festivals!

For a full 2009 programme go to www.lewisham.gov.uk/peoplesday from 11 June 2009, or find out the news as it happens via our twitter feed.

Enjoy rock, reggae, soul, nu folk, street dance, ballet, tap, film, comedy, circus...ahhh the list is endless. Seven solid hours of the best art, culture and music Lewisham, London, the UK and the World has on offer; then just jump on the bus, train, bike and you still have the rest of Saturday night to enjoy.

Here's the science bit...Lewisham’s annual flagship event, now in its 25th year, is a fantastic FREE family day out, People’s Day is the largest and longest running festival in south-east London, which blends a varied professional arts programme with a first class showcase of diverse local talent.

In addition to music, dance, film, theatre and sport on seven stages there will be international food stalls, a craft market and a chance to find out why Lewisham is a great place to meet and make music, to get creative, to meet people and have a great time.

Who I'd like to meet:

Other like-minded people, especially those who live, work or learn in the borough. People who want to have fun and enjoy music, dance, food, art, film, theatre, sport and life!

Stream, in partnership with Greenwich Council, have been scouring the borough to find the most exciting new film-making talent to showcase as part of the Greenwich Film Festival.

So, if you think that you could be the next Martin Scorsese, or simply want the chance to see your film on the silver screen you have one week left to submit your film.

The Greenwich Film Festival is a unique programme of screenings and events taking place across the borough of Greenwich 23 – 26 July 2009 and we are looking for films from young film-makers aged 25 or under. A selection of the best films submitted will be screened during the festival and there will
also be a cash prize for the very best films selected.

Interested?

Submission is open to young film-makers aged under 25 on 29 June 2009 or groups of young film-makers with an average age of 25 or under. Entrants

must be resident, work or study in the London Borough of Greenwich

To find out more and download the application form please visit the website

www.greenwich.gov.uk/filmfestival

BUT HURRY!

Closing date for submissions is 5pm Monday 29 June 2009
