Me - Dave How - lead guitar.
Myself - Dave How - rhythm guitar.
I - Dave How - all the other noises via a synth.
Oh, and occasionally one of my sons, Matt, on tenor saxophone or drums. And, perhaps, my eldest son, Nick, on some guitar. To hear their work please check out 'sweetfa666'.
Influences
Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, King Crimson, Barclay James Harvest, Jethro Tull, ELP, Rush, Frank Zappa, Wishbone Ash, Black Sabbath and Hawkwind etc. etc. although you'd never guess it from hearing the stuff I end up creating!
Not so much a band as a single strand! A closet guitarist of many years standing I've been involved in some serious endeavours and some very silly comedy stuff. Now I've decided to show off some of the music that I've created over the past few decades and you'll find it here, just as soon as I get it recorded.
My first band was called Crystal Vase. We were all about 12 at the time. Included in our set was 'In the summertime'. If you know the song you'll remember the motorbike revving half way through. We didn't have a motorbike so our singer, Paul, blew a raspberry into a glass vase and that's how our name came about.
Later, now in my late teens and early twenties, I was part of a band called Cyan. We played covers and very, very few gigs but it was fun.
Many, many years of home based twiddling followed before I met two other guys and we set about recording some material of our own. That was mostly rock/jazz and great fun. Sadly we never made it out on the road.
More recently I've been involved with a theatre based comedy band. We create a storyline around well known songs (often with rewritten lyrics), dress up, act the fool and generally have a good time.
At present it's just me, my guitar and Cubasis. Hopefully, around a not too distant corner, will be new folk to jam with and, if I'm very lucky, I might just get into a gigging band before I hit 50!
