Luiz & Gabriel Esteves's Leyline is a path to modern, experimental and alternative music made in Brazil with no connections to any recording companies. (But we can sell our souls to the devil for some millions of dollars... Any takers?)
On the first Leyline CD "Project One", recorded in 2001, Luiz had the collaboration of his son, Gabriel Esteves, who was only 14 at that time. After listening to an astonishing guitar solo played by Gabriel, Luiz realised that the young boy had to be the official guitar-player for Leyline. "Project One" contains 15 instrumental tracks.
In 2002, Luiz & Gabriel recorded "what's on the way ", with Luiz on vocals, keyboards, programming, bass, acoustic and electric guitars and Gabriel on the electric guitar. Karl Mooney from Dublin, Ireland, wrote some lyrics for Leyline music.
"Just For Fun", the third album by Leyline, was released in 2003. Luiz Esteves & Gabriel Esteves had the collaboration of Joao de Deus (of Banda Makaloba), Taquinho Noronha and Karl Mooney.
In 2004, the single Rio Burning (Rio Em Chamas) was released.
"Noise From My Room", the fourth CD, was released in January 2005.
Leyline has finished the 5th album, Dreaming Again with 15 new tracks. Luiz & Gabriel had the collaboration of Valmor Pedretti Jr of Worldengine and Taquinho Noronha.
Ley line definition:Leys or "Ley lines" are the grid patterns formed by drawing connecting lines between ancient megaliths, stone circles, and other ancient monuments. These monuments are said to mark the intersection of telluric energy currents (the natural electric currents that make up the earth's magnetic field). Many claim these areas are associated with increased paranormal activity, or 'gateways' for supernatural or interdimensional beings.
Leyline my cherished: As usual dropping by your site to listen to your crazy but superb songs. From the repertoire presented, allow me please to pick out "21st Century" and "Imaginary Weekend" as my best loved numbers. Gabriel's guitar is like a cutting edge of a sharp blade, a wild fire strewing and sweeping across a dry helpless forest and your Lennon and Hammil voices are second to none. Hope you're working on "A mad way to explain". I'm looking forward to hearing your drumming, bass and other keyboards and percussion duly added. I'm happy as a lark to know my new forthcoming CD "Jack-of-all-trades ... but master of many" in plain English will have this song of yours included. Gonna sing it with you and Gabriel sooner than you could ever think. Leyline is great, in quality and ability, my hearty felicitations!

-------------------- Muita Paz e todas as vibrações positivas do Universo.
