Sabrina Scriva from Rome and Patrizia Pinto from Martina Franca in the southern region of Apulia, met in Rome in 2000 with the intention to form a female band .........after a long list of failed attempts! As they are both composers, they decide to try out some of their own pieces and "give it a go!" After long meetings at Sabrinas house, music and words with a very feminine mentality started to come together.Words and music with a very psychical, visual but most of all, very sensuous, quite spatial............yes, yes, rather out of this world like "Blade Runner" or "2001 Odyssey in Space" etc....... the thing is that we watch these films from our balcony 7th floor.
Careless of what's going on in the Italian music industry, Sabrina and Patrizia do everything alone , this does not mean they are rich, as we usually presume when we listen to some strange, creative artist! Sabrina plays guitar,bass, drum machine e composes the music. Patrizia composes music melodies, words,she's is a stage animal and very often pisses Sabrina off as she cannot even keep still when she's singing sitting down on a chair!!On the contrary Sabrina is very good sitting down

Our goal is to put into action our visions through our music and create a new, spontaneous "musical language" that doesn't care of what goes on elsewhere in the Italian music industry, especially with fake producers and butchers(respect for real butchers) turned managers.

.............................................................................Sabrina Scriva, romana e Patrizia Pinto, pugliese di Martinafranca, si incontrano a Roma nel 1999 con l' intento di formare una band femminile...............l' ennesimo invano tentativo.
Entrambe compositrici, decidono di tentare insieme l' approccio creando brani propri.
Attraverso i numerosi incontri mattutini a casa di Sabrina, nascevano musiche e parole che avevano tutta l' aria di una mentalita' femminile, psichica, visiva ( soprattutto ), sensuale e anche spaziale.... si, si proprio spaziale inteso come "Blade runner", "2001 odissea nello spazio" ecc... solo che noi questi film li vediamo dal balcone dell'ultimo piano. Noncuranti del mercato discografico italiano, Sabrina e Patrizia fanno tutto da sole, cio' non vuol dire che sono ricche come spesso accade quando ascoltiamo un' artista tanto strano e creativo e figo, sovente non hanno una lira........cioe' euro.
Sabrina in questi brani suona, chitarra, basso, drum machine, midi e compone le musiche, Patrizia compone le melodie vocali, parole e spesso fa incazzare Sabrina visto che e' un tipo o meglio un animale da palco che non riesce a stare ferma un attimino, nemmeno quando canta sulla sedia mentre Sabrina ci sta benissimo sulla sedia ed e' un tipo apparentemente tranquillo.
OBIETTIVO: L'obiettivo importante e' mettere in atto le nostre visioni attraverso la musica e dare forma ad un vero e spontaneo discorso musicale che non si cura del becero mercato discografico italiano, formato soprattutto da discografici che fanno i maestrini della vita e di macellai (con tutto il rispetto dei veri macellai ) che si improvvisano manager. Cantare in italiano in inglese in francese in cartaginese, suonare regolare 2 strofe un ritornello 2 strofe, bridge, solo di chitarra sul ritornello BASTAAAAAA non ne possiamo piu', chi se ne frega e via. Entrambe abbiamo esplorato la musica nelle sue varie forme ed evoluzioni; attive da diversi anni sulle scene musicali, siamo riuscite a fondere in questa formazione le nostre esperienze fino a raggiungere un nostro sound.
E' una storia che parla di autolesionismo, conigli rosa, uccellini feriti e una promessa per l'eternità. Attenzione: questa storia potrebbe spezzarti il cuore a metà.
Sabato notte su All Music, sarà trasmesso in anteprima il video di “Fiume” degli Starla tra l’una e le due all’ interno del programma Indie Pendenti. Ciao.
