About me:

NEWPRIDE is a group of individuals actively working for the improvement of the lives of the LGBT community in Northeast Wisconsin through a NOT FOR PROFIT capacity.

We are dedicated to reminding the general public of the discrimination LGBT people in Wisconsin face every day by lack of access to basic rights and freedoms including the right to get married. We will garner media attention where possible, and give a face to the struggles of LGBT people.

Our single, major goal is an annual Northeast Wisconsin Pride event PRIDE ALIVE being help this summer on Saturday July 11th 2009, with additional events the week of leading up to the event. (NEWPride PRIDE ALIVE 2009. The momentum is already growing!)

Additionally, this group is designed to be a tool for individuals and small groups of activists to reach out to others to create positive change in our community. You want to adopt a highway? Email us and we'll post a notice and rally our troops! Clean a highway, and make sure everyone driving by sees the sign and knows that members of LGBT GBAN keep that road beautiful. Volunteering at a local event? Post to the site, get others to join you, and make sure everyone wears a rainbow ribbon letting the community know we're here and we care. The possibilities are as limitless as your creativity and passion!

Who I'd like to meet:

Quite simply - YOU! We need volunteers with creativity, passion, and a sense of activism. Whether you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or an ally of the community, we want you to get involved. We encourage all members of our community to be out and proud every day!

All events and information will be posted to this site, as well as emailed to the membership. To have your email address added to the distribution list, send a message on here, including your name, address, phone number and email address. (info@newpride.org)

We also want your pictures and stories! Tell us how last years amendment is hurting you and your partner. Share with us your pictures from Pride Alive 2008, or your everyday lives and we'll post them to this site.
