Books
Jitterbug Perfume, How To Go To Pieces Without Falling Apart, All Over but the Shoutin', Siddhartha, short stories by Mary Robison (she is SOOO incredible), Tony Early, Eudora Welty. I also pick up Robert Frost, Esra Pound, T.S. Eliot over and over, and a book called "Heal Your Body" by Louise L. Hay. I collect books of quotes and prayers. My favorite book of poems is Songs for the Portugese by Robert Browning. I read several decorating, design and renovation magazines every month. I'm trying to wean myself off self-help books (they don't seem to be helping.) It should also be mentioned that I read at least two children's books almost every night. Do YOU know what happens if you give a mouse a cookie?
Heroes
People who do what they feel is right, instead of what is popular or comfortable. People who are willing to be on the outside who they have always been on the inside. People who make bold mistakes. People who turn fear into rocket fuel. And, of course, you.
We make custom draperies, pillows, bedding, nurseries, and all kinds of soft furnishings. We repair and restore everything from antique linens to boat covers and parachutes. We would love to make something for you!
ok, we're not really go-go dancers, but we do love Downtown Hattiesburg, and we will go-go dance on the counter to keep it growing, if that's what it takes.
Who I'd like to meet: I want to meet people who are making a dream come true. I want to know more about Ira Glass, but I am afraid that if I Google him I will find out what he looks like. I would like to meet the bee girl from the Blind Melon "No Rain" video. I would like for Dave Grohl to call me up and say, "We've got a day between Memphis and New Orleans. Can you take us bowling?" I'd like to meet people who may leave in body but never in spirit. I know about losing people you love to suicide, so message me if you need some help.
My next show will be at the House of Blues on Jan. 30th. Showtimes are 7:00 and 10:00 I believe. Our special guest is Catherine d'Lish- she is an international star. I will be debuting a brand new act. I hope you can make it!!
Thank you for the nice note. I have been thinking what a crazy world it is and how funny it is that I "know" you. These days, I never even have time to acknowledge my customers and friends that "befriend" me on MySpace, but back when I first started the page, I "befriended" a bunch of folks who signed up at the same time. And I think that is how we "met"? That is so cool. :)
I think of you and your spiffy business and I hope you are thriving. How is your pup? And the rest of your family?
I wish you a prosperous and blessed New Year, my friend.
Sup girl? Glad you found me on here. I still can't get used to Facebook! What has been happening with you? Are you doing custom sewing? 2nd ex-wife of mine made custom bedding and draperies. Had a really booming business when we met. ... she turned out to be MENTAL.
I think you and I both make dorky look good! :) I gave your number (Avalon's anyway) to a client. She just bought a new home and mentioned she needed curtains!
