On My Mind.
I wrote and recorded this song in the Tyrone Guthrie center Newbliss co. Monaghen a year or so ago. Martin Brunsdon engineered it and plays an extraordinarily beautiful Double bass accompaniment. It was later mixed and mastered in sono recording studio in the Czech republic.
Ar nAthair is the our Father . The music is a part of a mass suite by Sean O Riada. This interpretation was captured in John Reynolds place in London. John recoded the voices and created an atmosphere wit an accoustic guitar loop. The jewel in this crown is the desert style guitar playing at the beginning and end. thanks to Justin Adams .
Tar's eye-the money mad mile is a song written by Steve Cooney in response to a highway through Tara . Tara is the seat of the high kings. It is a site of great historic and mythological significance. It is where the phisical meets the dream. Our dreamtime center. The building of a highway is an obscene act of treachury. Steve produced and playd on this track. Liam plays piano and sings. Laoise Kelly plays harp. Odhran O Casaide playes pipes and strings .
An Buachaill ban I heard played by Jackie Daly . A living treasure in Irish music particularly the Sliabh Luachra style.
Sadhbh Ni Bhruinnealadh is a lovely woman and this guy wants her for his own. She is having none of it.I play bodhran on and sing this song. I play whistle on the following jig accompanied by Justin adams on electric guitar.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
