Liam Wade is co-founder and Executive Director of the San Francisco based ensemble CMASH, a new-music repertory group committed to long-term collaborative relationships between living composers and performers. Collaborations with CMASH performers have led to performances and outreach presentations across the United States, Canada and France.
Wade's collaboration with the Cecilia Quartet has produced two string quartets. Notable performances have been with La Jolla Music Society, ProQuartet and at the Toronto Music Garden. In 2008 he was commissioned by Boston's Firebird Ensemble and played guitar on several performances of Frank Zappa's compositions for the Firebird's "Meat the Composer" concerts.
Wade studied composition at La Schola Cantorum in Paris, France and at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. He continued his study of counterpoint and composition as a private student of Dr. Philip Lasser in New York. This year he has been awarded a teaching fellowship in composition from University of California Davis to commence in the Fall.

LA is busy and good - scheming on how you, me and Ann can have more chat music/snack time - Pushing to get Flaminco recording - have more string quartet ideas for you ...
What's up, buttercup? How you been!?! Great to catch up with you too! Break both legs and come back soon, bro. Looking forward to touching base! Freaking awesome.
Hey Liam, Just got a chance to listen to 4 poems by edna st. and i really enjoyed the work. I like the drama created by the absence of strings toward the end of Recuerdo and True Encounter really grooves. Ann does a terrific job as well! Congrats on a successful peace.
Dig it! Awesome compositions! Studying with Rabbath is about as good as you can get... he pretty much wrote the book! (actually he definitely did!) Thanks for coming out to our raucous jaunt into disorganized jamming and allowing our sounds into your ears.... Come out again! Leave some love on the Myspizzle!
Hi Liam, thanks. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. It's not everyday that a composer receives comments that go beneath the surface and reflect a deeper understanding of the piece. Thanks!
