"Entirely gorgeous and somewhat hopeful. It's a well-conceived, multi-layered set of compositions from a fresh face in Canadian music." Dan Sylvester, Exclaim! Magazine
"What’s most impressive about Liar’s Rosebush, and indeed this album, is its distinct sense of sureness ... an admirable display of complexity, originality, and production craft." Danny Turner, Barcode Zine
One of Canada's premiere electronic eccentrics returns with a brand new album for 2009!
Liar's Rosebush is the stage name of electronic musician Matt Rosen, whose frantic breakbeats, heartfelt melodies, and house-party basslines have been rumbling through the nation for well over six years.
This past year, Rosen joined forces with a young group of Canadian audio-visual artists and musicians to form The Meat Parade Collective (TMPC), a team determined to spread their love of new media arts and technology. TMPC is proud to present Thank-You Machines! as its first official release.
The release comes as a follow-up to 2007's Circle the Squares, an album which earned rave reviews from the world's electronic music community and brought Rosen the reputation of producing music that is "mindbogglingly complex" (Tobias Fischer, Tokafi Magazine).
Thank-You Machines! continues to explore that complexity, shaped with methodical structure and dynamics, infusing the digital chaos with elements of rock, jazz, and countless musical traditions that have brought him to where he is. There is an undeniable human element to this album, as Rosen pays tribute to the gadgets and toys that help him make his sounds.
"...An incredibly mature [album]... Rosen is very personal in his approach and obviously his musical skills as an instrumentalist (and not just a laptop programmer) have heavily influenced the making of this record..."
- Marc Urselli-Schaerer, Chain DLK
"Trying to label Rosen's music is pointless, as it encompasses such a wide and varied mix of sounds and styles... constantly twisting and turning, experimenting and manipulating ideas around a theme."
- Paul Lloyd, Connexion Bizarre
Hey cheers man! Not sure if you've met any of the crew yet but hope to see you around Vancouver.

thanks for that comment. I heard your interview yesterday on CHUO, which was very entertaining. I love your stuff and am waiting out the days until your June 9th show.
Wooohaaaaa!!! Braindrop is throwing its very first boat party on Saturday 6 June.
The vessel is specially equipped to hold large groups of people (and all the extra bass bins we can squeeze on). Her name is The Dutch Master and she be a mighty fine boat too!
It's going to be ridiculously fun rinse up. However, if you think you can get away with being remotely serious and/or cool at this party - ye be mistaken. The Braindrop Boat Rave is fancy dress: Pirate's from the 80's. Arrgh...better get thinkin what ye gonna wear.
D&B / DUBSTEP / TECHNO / BREAKS / ELECTRO / HARDCORE / HIP HOP / GABBA / BREAKCORE / PSYTRANCE / RAVE... and lots more!
