   Liberated Books's Blurbs
About me:
Liberated Books is a collectively run, free book redistribution center and infoshop. We accept donations of books and magazines and then find new homes for them. We focus on books that are in danger of being thrown in the trash and people who have limited access to books. We do accept all books and give books to anyone that wants them...no questions asked. On the last Sunday of the month we host a free book event between 2 and 9. We accept donations and allow people to take a look at our collection. We encourage people to be greedy and take home lots of free books. We've only recently started this and currently it's housed in a garage. We're still working on attaining non-profit status and building up a core group of volunteers and collective members. If you're interested in more info please contact us! Liberated Books is looking for retail space. We're searching for a vacant space in the Mt. Clemens area that someone would be willing to donate for awhile. If you or anyone you know has space available and would let us move in rent free for a bit please let us know. Liberated Books has recently begun a Books for Prisoners project. Currently we are donating books to local correctional libraries in addition to our regular free book events. We are also starting a zine lending library. If you or anyone you know is the creator or distro for a zine have them contact us. We're looking for donations! Trees

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who loves to read! Volunteers, organizers, people with books they no longer want, and people who want books. We'd also love to meet musical folks who are interested in performing at one of our upcoming benefit shows or at a book event. Local crafters to feature their work at our free book events. Local authors to do book signings at our free book events. Anyone that owns vacant retail space that they would be willing to donate to us for a bit. We need a new home! Creators of zines to donate their zines to our zine lending library. Contact us for more info.

THE STRANGE
JULIE MARCOS AND FRIENDS
BROTHERS BROTHERS
RYAN GATES

Master of Ceremonies: CAT LISTENING

We will be shooting film for upcoming independent film projects during this and upcoming Emergence Theater Showcases.

This event is a fundraiser for the Emergence Theater. And just what is THAT?
Well, here is both the official and unofficial description...

Official: The Emergence Theater is a non-profit, multicultural creative space, resource and learning center for the emerging sustainable living movement.
Unofficial: The Emergence Theater is a place to hang out, have a good time, learn about the things that can help to make life more enjoyable and abundant.
How? By bringing THE PEOPLE together to create amazing, powerful, beautiful, spontaneous changes that last... change to what? Hmmm? What do YOU think that means? It's all up to you. You create this experience... so...

Please come and have a good time with us, meet some awesome people and celebrate this chance we have to bring about some CHANGE!]

Attention all bibliophiles!

Running through April 30th, select Salvation Army thrift stores are blowing out their book inventories!

For only five dollars, you can fill a conventional plastic shopping bag with as many books as possible! Restrictions may apply with some stores, but I know at the 16 mile and Gratiot location, folks were leaving with two bags for five bucks, myself included.

Happy Earth Day! May You embrace Mother Earth every day and take time to give reverence to her blessings.

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.

~Chief Seattle, 1855

I'm not an environmentalist. I'm an Earth warrior.

~Darryl Cherney

There is hope if people will begin to awaken that spiritual part of themselves, that heartfelt knowledge that we are caretakers of this planet.

~Brooke Medicine Eagle

And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.

~William Shakespeare

Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money.

~Cree Indian Proverb

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

~John Muir

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.

~John Muir, 1913, John of the Mountains: The Unpublished Journals of John Muir, 1938
