UPCOMING EVENTS:
The first Libertine Collective REart Exhibit featuring the Kelvins at MAC 650 Gallery, 650 Main street. Exhibit on display til March 28th. For more info contact the Libertine Collective or H.L. Groen
In a world in which things are just thrown away & tossed aside, a group of artists from the Libertine Collective reinvent art and celebrate the unwanted, discarded and misunderstood, and take the idea that "one man's garbage is another man's treasure" to another level. In essence, the concept honors the misunderstood in each and every artist. Instead of discarding the individual, we choose to honor what is different and unique.
Hakkımda: This site is dedicated to celebrating the passionate creative spirit and collective endeavors. We seek those who understand the values of living life to the fullest through actions, connections, intellect, intent and damn good conversation. This page will serve as a gathering place for Connecticut like-minded artists of any medium to express themselves and thereby motivate one another. In a "real world" sense, we hope to explore and gather at new venues along with the habitual hot spots we’ve come to love.
We hope to share ideas and thoughts on this new site through blogs, pictures and comments to communicate and keep each other up to date with our whereabouts, happenings, life accomplishments and other salient information. We will post any information of upcoming events, links, art and music if you send it along. In turn we hope to build upon our little community and inspire one another with endless possibilities and gain new insight by learning from one another.
Kimle tanışmak isterim: Innovators of the world, the person who isn’t afraid to speak their mind or think a bit differently from societal standards. The creative thinkers, the chance takers, the life lovers and the thrill seekers.
So, my advocate ad representative informed me today that they are changing the catogories a little for the "Best of Hartford" 2008 ballots. Previously, there was a "best tattoo shop" or a "best tattoo and piercing emporium" catagory, depending on the year. The shop I worked in from 1997 until this past summer won almost every year that I was the head piercer there, I'm sure collectively, on account of all our efforts.
THIS YEAR, THEY WILL BE DOING TWO TOTALLY SEPERATE CATAGORIES. ONE FOR BEST TATTOO SHOP AND ONE FOR BEST PIERCING SHOP!
So, if you ever voted for my old shop BECAUSE of your piercing experience with me, PLEASE VOTE FOR BLACK DIAMOND BODY PIERCING FOR BEST PIERCING SHOP THIS JANUARY!
so awesome that you have the soul merchants playing on your page! I'm sure Heather's told you that we've found a home for a lot of her work at my new shop in West Hartford and I now have a couple of Mike Warble's paintings too. So, if anyone's looking to purchase from them, this would be the place! Thanks for bringing together so many local artistic/creative people! <3 Georgina
Thanks TLC for featuring Garage Noir! I'm proud to be in such distinguished company.
