LibertyWalk 2008: A 4,913 Mile Walk For The United States Constitution Mobilizes The Public
DALLAS/EWORLDWIRE/April 11, 2007 --- On July 4, 2008, the 4,500+ mile journey of the organizers and volunteers of the LibertyWalk will begin with one step, with each mile symbolizing every word in the United States Constitution. During the 181-day event which departs from Dallas, Texas, LibertyWalk will cover 21 states, averaging 26.5 miles per day or a little over a marathon each day, until returning to conclude in Austin on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2008.
The shape of a star, symbolizing "hope," will form the points of the travel. Within each leg of the star, the charitable LibertyWalk will be creating awareness about a specific project, and current issues the United States faces regarding each project, while raising money for local charities nationwide.
Projects of the star include:
- Healthcare
- Civil Rights
- Veteran's Rights
- Peace
- Equality
- Poverty
- Education
- Environment
- Constitutional Rights
- Immigration
At each of the five points of the star, rallies will be held, creating a platform for all citizens to speak to the nation regarding projects just completed or those about to begin.

ABOUT LIBERTYWALK 2008
The LibertyWalk is a charitable organization that will journey across the eastern United States to create awareness for some of the toughest issues the country is facing. The LibertyWalk campaign has officially become a 501(c)3, non-profit organization! In 2008, the group will walk 4,500+ miles, or 26.5 miles per day, for the United States' constitution and liberties, in the shape of a star, symbolizing "hope." The money raised during the walk will go towards local charities nationwide. The event will begin on the Fourth of July and end on New Year's Eve, crossing 21 states in 181 days.

We were just approved by the IRS!! Any donations to the LibertyWalk will now be Tax Exempt. We are finally getting to start our fundraising campaign for the walk itself. Generous donations will help us meet our goals to cover all expenses for the walk/rallies.
