   About Libor Spacek

Since its release, Libor Spacek's second EP "A series of instructions has recieved endless radio airplay and glowing reviews. Opening track Sibling of Sleep has now been featured on unsigned showcases both sides of the Atlantic on BBC Radio 1 (Huw Stephens and Lamacq Live) and Chicago WKQX FM (Robert English).

Rocksound Magazine
"Starting out with a luscious piano riff, 'Sibling of Sleep', the first track on space-rockers LiborSpacek's demo, is a fine introduction to a solid band. All of the best elements of alt-rock are here, housed within three great tracks". (8/10)

BBC Live Review
Call it punky, call it spiky, or even prickly, their set is full of sharpness - taut guitar and bass plucks, staccato marching drums, intense piano and jittery vocals feverishly repeating lines as though it's the soundtrack to One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. It's an electrifying performance!

MUNDANE MONDAYS. The best band in Basingstoke at the minute claim those in the know. Very young, sexy they are buzzing with their frantic guitars and lovely vocals. Really tasty young guitar band ear fodder for your heart and soul www. myspace. com/themundanemondays
ILLEGIMATE SONS OF THE KING
Time Out claim they are Jamie T fronting Arctic Monkeys. Whilst Hype Magazine state they create a fresh sound, with songs/hooks that should be sung at 4am in the morning. Tipped by the Daily Mirror. To our ears they remind us for great old local bands like Pappa Brittle or EB and the System. A mix match of rap and guitars. Their cd is a huge breath of fresh air. This is their debut Reading show. Join on and enjoy the party. www. myspace. com/iskmusic
CHIMES Sounding very tasty, again very young. These kids can write a song www. myspace. com/thechimespage
ATTENTION THIEVES Played for us last month, where they ripped it up to the top. Especially as it was only their second show. Attention Thieves have something really good going on and we cant really pin them down musically. Club Velocity’s Bandorama. Rising Sun Arts Centre, 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST.
Doors 8pm. £5/£4 with flyer.
Acts:
MATT HEGARTY - Is a genius times a billion. Fact. He should be all over the wireless http://www.myspace.com/matthegartyuk

THE WOOKIES - Our (Club Velocity's) favourite hippy punk band, now based in the centre of the universe that is Reading, having moved from Newbury last week. They sing about Animal hospitals, clouds and bunny rabbits. Come back, it actually works. http://www.myspace.com/thewookiesrock

THE RACE - One of the most successful bands to come out of Reading over the last few years. Signed to Shifty Disco (the label that gave birth to Young Knives), they released their debut album in 2006 and it pricked up the ears of any punter or media heard it. It was a very, very fine debut album. The Race are one of the best examples of such an exciting Reading music scene. They have played many a festival all over Europe-including Reading Festival in 2006. Been championed by the likes of Radio 1/XFM/6 Music and many a fine music publication. This is a very rare one off to see a band of this status in such a small venue. Their second album is ready for release in October 2008. It was was produced by Dave Eringa (Kyle Minogue/Manic Street Preachers) He has taken the band to a new higher level. Sounding like U2 having a fist fight with Arcade Fire. The Race are now a f--king great band! http://www.myspace.com/theraceuk

"Great band-esp live," Buk and Skit ALONG THE LINE OF RUIN Last time they palyed Reading they blew the roof off. This is heavy Welsh hatecore. They confirm Slayer should retire FEUD Hard rocking-no thrills-straight for the balls music for real people. Club Velocity presents. A seriously tasty gig! Come all come one!!Bring your Auntie.

Date June 14th Saturday 2008 Venue Plugnplay 35 Milford Road Reading RG1 www.plugnplay.tvDoors 8pm to 2am Price £5 on the door £4 advance www.wegottickets.com/ flyer

TRIPWIRES The four piece actually started out as far back as 2002. They were all about 12. They are still all under 19. They are now not only one of the best forward thinking local bands around, they should be easily the next local band to step up to the next level. This is a band that you would be (very) stupid to miss.

"Think Biffy Clyro meets Cooper Temple Clause. Compelling British Rock, " Designer Magazine www.myspace.com/tripwires

MR FOGG A rare live outing by local electronic pop genius. Mr Fogg is rated by a who whos in the world of UK media. He has done numerous live sessions for everyone from Janice Long to Tom Robinson. Live he seriously rocks, as he employs a live band that consists of ex members of Libor Spacek and current members of Pure Reason Revolution.

"Ace,ace,ace," Huw Stephens

www.myspace.com/mrfoggisapopstar

THE WOOKIES They used to a tad too progressive rock. You know the sort of band who think growing a wacky beard is cool or wearing sandals. They have been hanging out with ex members of Wire and listening to Slayer. This makes them a far more exciting and sexy prospect of a musical adventure. They sing about hospitals and animals and hose pipe bans. Crazy kids. "They play jazz-infected indie pop and they are here to save the world with some of the oddest pop songs ever," Josaka

www.myspace.com/thewookiesuk

THE STORM EXPLOSION The Storm Explosion number four, they remind us of the long long lost mighty God Machine. If you dig Godspeed, Explosions In The Sky, Mogwai and Richard Ashcroft as a singer then they could quite (easily) by your favourite new band. This is their debut gig.! Turn up early.www.myspace.com/thestormexplosion

BANDORAMA/CLUBVELOCITY relaunch night at the Rising Sun Arts Centre 30 Silver Street Reading RG1. FRIDAY JUNE 6TH 2008. The night that inspired Club Velocity is back and will soar like a big fire ball sort of thing. Long-long-long time before we started to do shows in Reading. There was Bandorama. We are honoured to asked to bring back the night to the greatest rocknroll venue in the land that being the Rising Sun Arts Centre, 30 Silver Street Reading.

The Bands
VIVACITY (Last gig as this name!!) No nonsense straight forward thinking GB rock n roll "Seriously ones to watch," Blah Blah

FULL FORCE GALES You should know now that Heartwear Process are the best band ever-this is their side project-with members Jay/Chris/James-ion second only gig shocker. Sound nowt like Heartwear Process-but equally as sexy.

THE VEYGERS News sexy kids on the block-3rd gig. Not just a dull run of the mill indie band.
