Discovering some new illusions because I've been disabused of all my old ones. But, I expect once you open your eyes(s) it's very hard to get back to dreaming.

Yeah well I still like Bob Dylan and John Coltrane and Alice Coltrane and Yoko Ono and John Lennon and that band he had in the sixties was special and Will Oldham's various guises though the Palace facade was the best and I saw Cat Power a while ago and she put on one of the greatest shows I've seen and Sun Ra was amazing and I've been listening to Ys by Joanna Newsom which involves Van Dyke Parks (who helped make the Smile sessions one of my favorite things ever) but she hasn' t topped the "Sprout and the Bean" which first got me interested and oh yeah how about Zappa and Beefheart and Serge Gainsbourg and music my friends have made and I happen to know that Judas Priest was better than Coldplay.

I did too! Four years ago, after Kerry was defeated, I had a conversation with a friend of mine about Obama's becoming president! Unfortunately, my friend did not live to see it happen. But what an amazing week. I'm still feeling overwhelmed.
I have a lizard now, and he is a Libra. When he gets agitated I sing to him and he is instantly soothed. He is a baby Egyptian Uromastyx, which grow to be 2 to 3 feet, and he told me his name is Silverado and that I can call him Silver. He eats greens and flowers. I love him.
From the Dept. of You're Not Paranoid if They're Really Out to Get You: I had a mercury amalgam filling removed this week. I have felt fantastic ever since.
You know, I will be 37 soon also, and then we will both be 37. But then October 14th you will be 38 and then you will be older than me again. As always.
