About me: With the silent approach of DJ'ing, LickA shot has taken the world by storm. It all started in '85 when this house hold name became the "Most known Unknown of the true school of hip-hip. Currently owning a Production company called FlatLine Entertainment has been the forfront of his success. Originally from New Jersey and currently residing in Washington DC, this DJ wanted to explore the under-rated "Chocolate City" as many referred DC to be. The places he's DJ'ed at range from New York (VooDoo, Canal Room), Philly (Fluid, Rainbow Playground, Silk City, Eden RoC, The Warehouse), Jersey (The Rink), Cleveland, OH (Horizon), San Diego (Hotel W), Denver CO (The FunkyBudda Lounge), ATL (Karma), Miami (Velvet), London, Europe (Cargo), Washington DC (Club 5, HOME, H2 O, The Art Museum, OZIO, Platinum, 1223, YUKA). People remember "This Dude" from the parties that were really popular in Philly that were held from a promoting company LickA shot worked with called THC back in 1993-1996. "When I opened up in Balt. of '02 for DJ PREMIER, I knew I came a long way from the old school basement house high school parties." LickA shot. Between doing WDAS FM, a smooth R&B station, LickA shot got a hands on experience to realize radio was not for him. "A true artist in any form can paint any type of picture with-out limitations. That to me is the most brilliant Master Piece anyone can relate to. I didn't like to play music that I was told was hot, I made that decision for my self. Radio is definitly a good source of promotion and marketing but when it's not used in the right manner and abused, this is when you get the real hip-hop fans to step outside the box and take matters into their own hands." With the humble approach, LickA shot has a team of MC's that rep. with him while he's on tour. LickA shot has made a big impact to the growing scene of what we all know as the true scool hip-hop. While opening up for acts as MOBB DEEP, CEE-LO, R-Kelly & Jay-Z in the diamond district, he's put aside time to start producing. Look out for production and remixes from this dude in the near future.
