Whether in the heart of New York's downtown music scene, or throughout the US, the musical roots-rock and jazz quartet Licorice is a true jam band juggernaut.
Featuring Joshua Bloom on drums and vocals, Matthew Epstein on bass, David Lott on lead vocals and guitar, and Chad Dinzes on vocals and keyboards, the Licorice sound starts in rock but always propels into an amalgamation of genres. At home in NYC the band can be seen regularly deployed to sold-out crowds at venues like The Blue Note and The Knitting Factory. At the same time the band continues to make strides throughout the country: including 5 consecutive performances at The Telluride Jazz Celebration in CO, a performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and multiple appearances throughout the festival circuit. Jazz legends including Roy Hargrove, Larry Coryell, Mike Dillon, and Adam Deitch have all shared the stage with the up and comers. The band released their first EP A Million Grains of Sand in the spring of 2008 to high acclaim.

Running a wee bit behind on getting the word out, but I played one of your tracks during the first ever 2009 edition of Some Kind of Jam. It was a hell of a great way to start this show's second year running!
