Influences
Lucinda Williams, The Shins, Edith Frost, Band of Horses, the Avett Brothers, Modest Mouse, The Beatles and Dylan (come on, who isn't...I mean, just put it out there and don't be a pansy) the Old 97's, Eva Cassidy, Ani DiFranco, Tom Waits, the Suede Chain, Bob Schneider, the Meat Purveyors, Crooked Fingers, the Method and Result, Ben Folds, Kit Malone, the Decemberists, Buddy Holly, Ella Fitz, Willie Nelson, John Denver, etc. etc. - All the music I have ever loved.
Life in the jungle is arduous, gutsy, and painful. It breaks people. One is subjected to the taciturn and awful hegemony of nature over man. For none of these reasons, Liesl started to play geetar. She picked up the instrument, mistaking it for a missing alan wrench. She was unable to put it down as someone had hexed, enchanted, cursed, or poxed it. As such, the best plan involved learning to bang out a few chords. Henceforth, Liesl + guitar travel to many places...except the jungle. Do they make sense together? Do they confuse and delight? Do they mystify, intrigue, and broast? Is it folk? Is it indie? Is it gonzo? These and other decisions are entirely up to you, the audience, casual listener and/or victim. Liesl's dream is that you will come see her shows and may even enjoy the fruits of this weird, possibly tasty combination. And please hasten to avoid the jungle.

Danielle is playing this Saturday at the Rhythm On The River Music Festival just across the bridge. Google to find out more if you're interested. Cheers!
girl, thank you for opening our hearts to the awesomeness of the avett bros. after your recommendation, we're planning a trip to see them at the nelsonville art and music festival in may!
I couldn't help but notice a certain comment on Nat's page ;) and I just wanted to say that the scarf is lovely! No, more than lovely it has become a staple of my everyday, a sign that it is cold out and I need assistance in keeping myself warm! Yet again, thankyouthankyouthankyou you pick out most excellent gifts :)
It was nice to talk to you for more than half a minute this go round. I'd heard rumors of your awesomeness, but really, I've only just begun to grasp it.
what a night, right? you played great, though! you brought a bit of pep to the proceedings amid brodie's and my balladeering. and no worries about the guitar. hope to see you again soon :)
Thanks for playing the show last night. Given the circumstances, I thought you sounded great. If it's any consolation, we played about 7 songs and the mic only worked on the last two for me. Plus Josh's mic was on the speakers over the other stage, but not in the room where we were. Yeah, sound was a problem. I enjoyed your songs as did a number of other folks.
Thanks and I hope you'll be willing to play another show. Sorry about the sound problems.
