African born singer/songwriter, Liesl Field has grown up with a love for singing and an appreciation for all styles of music. After moving to Australia with her family at the age of nine, she wrote her first song and sang it to a group of friends during lunchtime at primary school. This performance became a prophetic sign of things to come. Liesl was inspired to write a song after the tragic death of her father in 2002, which had a lasting impact on her family and friends. This desire to bring hope through music, drove her to express her own struggles and triumphs in her search for identity and acceptance, as an average teenage girl. Towards the end of 2006, Liesl began recording her promotional cd (a sample of songs aimed at girls facing the adjustments and issues encountered while travelling on the road of adolescence). ..All this time.. is a song that was written out of frustration at realising that, what we sometimes spend all our energy on trying to discover, can be missed because more often than not, it..s right in front of our faces! Liesl..s lyrics touch on a wide range of themes and emotions. As a motivational speaker, Liesl has met hundreds of girls who are inspired by her stories, songs and experiences ..I guess what I..m trying to do through my songs, is meet these girls where they are at emotionally, and give them hope that they can get through... Songwriting has become one of Liesl..s passions. Busying herself with promotional activities such as speaking engagements and performances, Liesl will continue to work towards her vision of producing songs that will inspire girls across the world to be themselves. She is currently completing her cd single 'Plastic Pictures'.
