Mt. are one of the shining new lights of the UK post-rock scene. 8/10
james ould the silent ballet

Stirring passages of instrumental rock music that rarely relies solely on the standard quiet-loud-quiet template. 7/10
Mike Diver Drowned In Sound

Sometimes there’s barely a whisper, sometimes it’s a dreamy pop sound and sometimes it’s like all the darkness in the world just descended on your stereo...
Simon T Diplock New Noise

Lethologica sounds like: Heaven -or- the warmth of four grandmama-made quilts on those arctic evenings in Virginia.
Slightly Confusing To A Stranger

Whilst Post-Rock is not necessarily a dying genre, but more a tiring one, there are occasional bands that come along who add more, keeping it going and evolving into something more fresh and exciting - this is a joy of a CD to listen to.
Velvet Grooves

Some genuinely unexpected moments of aural aggression...
Joe Marshall rocksound magazine
(Oct 2006, Issue 89)

Moving, violent and almost profound
Mike Wood Foxy Digitalis

Mt. breathes new life into the traditional post rock formula. They make it fresh, powerful and exciting all over again. This is an exciting, magical record, its time to get on this ship...
John Siwicki comfort comes

[EDITORS PICK]
Mt. is an evolution of post-rock...the group avalanches seas of guitar hooks atop light percussion and melancholic atmospheres. Keep an eye out for this outfit, youll need to jump at the chance of hearing them.
J - Sin smother

This is one of the most beautiful Post-Rock albums I..ve listened to lately. "Lethologica" guides you from climax to climax...an entanglement of sounds that rises to unexpected heights. 7/10
JD daredevil magazine

[Mt.] are making all the right noises with 2006's debut full-length, this is the time to get on board with one of britains most innovative, intense and exciting bands as they embark on an ascendance that with any justice will find them at the zenith of modern music. quite simply, they are stunning.
john sebire - new noise

it's magical, it's epic, it's sky-scraping beauty one minute then deafening explosions the next...ctrlaltdelete may be dead, but long live Mt., because on this showing, theyre a band you dont want to miss. 4/5
james ould - decoy music

[Mt.] are a trio but these four tracks sound every bit like the work of many more hands; really, this is music to which the adjective sky-scraping can effortlessly be applied without fear of stooping to cliché....rarely has its execution been so skilled, and so very well constructed...in short: this is brilliantly realized. 7/10
mike diver - drowned in sound

with a lush, melodious heart and soul...they're instantly inviting, at times even life-affirming...[Mt.] aim way higher than the bedsit melancholia which often scuppers bands of this ilk...a highly promising introduction. kkkk
olly thomas - kerrang!
(january 21 2006 issue 1091)

mondegreens is a heart-warming, undulating gem. 4/5
adam anonymous - undercover magazine
(december 2005, issue 30)

[mondegreens] slint-meets sonic youth dynamism means that its actually pretty fantastic. we'd like to write more but have run out of space... 8/10
hardeep phull - rocksound magazine
(february 2006, issue 81)

a head charging eclipse of massive sound, musicianship, originality and expression.
adam lewis - http://www.skiddle.com

mondegreens is a triumphant ep that given the right promotion could easily catapult this uk trio into the upper echelon of post-rock groups. my only wish is that this was a full-length, as 26 minutes only left me wanting more. 8.0
michael - http://www.scenepointblank.com

[Mt.] really impressed me with this release. their four tracks are all huge in scope but very enjoyable to listen to and they really know how to turn it up. this band could really be something special and one to follow. 9/10
john siwicki - http://www.comfortcomes.com

it's great to see a uk band actually doing something different, and whilst sure comparisons can be made to peers like red sparowes, isis and pelican they are in a genre that encourages experimentation and [Mt.] have taken that in their stride...these guys have taken their musician skills up a notch and created a slab of complex yet extremely listenable and engaging songs. long live [Mt.]. 9/10
james davison - www.staticdomain.com

this music was made to move. movies play in your head, bullet trains fly past, planes sweep overhead. with simple chord changes you travel entire continents, though you have never left your home...as simple and horrifically complex as first love this is that very first kiss with your future wife. so unknown; so full of promise.
jon - www.joyzine.co.uk

quiet delicate guitars and swoonsome melodies are backed up by gentle warm bass line and subtle drums all of which lulls the listener into a false sense of sonic security, as the delicate indie strummings give way to the onslaught of sonic chaos, effects pedals are hammered to death, the volume turned all way to eleven and generally soundtracking the beginning of the end of civilisation.
mark e - www.ireallylovemusic.com

moody, atmospheric and intricate - [Mt.] create sublime post-rock instrumentals that give you the shivers...an ep of the kind of glorious sounding melancholy that leaves you awed and dumb struck.
mike bond - www.ukmusicsearch.co.uk

mondegreens...is limited to a mere five hundred. and once word gets out about how incredibly amazing this album is, that certainly won't be enough pressings.
j-sin - www.smother.net

[Mt.] have that rare gift of the scant instrumental bands around to not stick to a style within their musicianship. some choose rocking out; some choose metal(ish) riffs, some ambience. so it's truly exciting when you encounter one willing to throw it all in and able to write convincing songs that can move between these styles well.
christopher keith-wright - www.sounddevastation.com

It seems untouched by human presence and feels like a natural force not capable of being judged or poked at.
Dave Douglas motivesounds zine (now defunct)

at their murderous best when their quiet bass and guitar melodies slip into deafening distortions at the flick of a pedal...it's like nothing the city has ever heard before.
chris musson - news and star

serious, impressive and bucketfuls of understated attitude...lovely stuff.
liz barnes - bbci louder

the music is intelligent, seething with promise and allure...

About Mt. (new live track up)

Mt. are Ben Maxwell, Joe Maxwell and Andy Harvey, the three of whom represent the latest chapter in the life of a band that started out as ctrlaltdelete.

Two years after a previous chapter released the debut album 'Lethologica', the band have finally released new material in the form of new E.P. ‘Teach Your Children How To Think, Not What To Think', (four tracks created before Joe and Andy's arrival, recorded by Nic Jay at Fisher Street Studios and mastered by Aereogramme's Iain Cook) and have returned to the live circuit with gusto.
The band are gigging as often as the need to earn a crust allows, and are heading into J & J Studios in June to begin work on their next album proper.
