Bio:

In 2002, long time friends John Buck (Vocals/guitars) & Jeff Elwood (drums) formed the Kelowna Hard Rock/Metal band LIFE, after Jeff re-trained himself how to play when a motorcycle accident left him with only the use of his arms. Over the next few years, with several member changes and numerous gigs across the Okanagan, they recorded and released their first EP, "Dig It" in 2006. LIFE then recruited Mike Kischnick (THOR / EMPYRIA & former Ten2nine guitarist) for their very successful CD release and more larger shows. Losing their bass player shortly thereafter, John, Jeff & Mike continued song writing and hunting for a replacement, finally finding multi-instrumentalist Kent Kynaston (former drummer for metal band Severed Serenity & THOR, as well). LIFE was now complete and embarked on the recording of a new full length CD. Tragedy struck again when John's hand was severely cut on a table saw, but instead of giving up, he & the band worked through it. For live shows, Mike carried all guitar duties while John took over the role of vocal frontman. And "LIVE" is where this band shines with an unparalleled balance of musicianship and showmanship. What didn't kill the band, made them stronger - John, fingers re-attached, recovered from his injury and was able to complete the new CD and return LIFE, in full force, to a dual guitar act. The new release is a full group effort that shows a more mature & diverse band. Alice in Chains to Zeppelin, Megadeth to Motorhead, combining rock, metal and progressive elements and blending all of their personalities and influences into a CD that is unmistakably LIFE. Taking their influences, not just from music, but from life around us – battling thru all that life can throw at you and still reaching their goals, LIFE, the band, is a true representation of life, itself. If you want something more from music than the mainstream, then this is it! Overcoming the obstacles, it's 2010 and this band is now primed and ready to breathe new LIFE into the world of metal.
