All songs written and arranged by Mike Bell and The Living
Formed in Canada in 2006, The Living is a collection of highly skilled musicians brought together by the combination of their classical training and their mutual passion for artistic exploration. The band's evocative name reflects the diversity of styles present in their music, as well as their desire to push boundaries and to continually grow.
The Living is known for their ability to blend several genres seamlessly into a single song. Indeed, the band takes much of its influence from classical composers such as Stravinsky and Ravel, rockers Queen and Muse, world artists like Ozomatli and Shakti, and progressive visionaries The Mars Volta, Björk, and Mike Patton, among many others.
The result: Violin fireworks. Primal rhythms. Tripped-out lyrics and sound textures. In short, an epic sonic experience.
"[T]his [is] progressive rock – at least in the true, progressing forward, sense of the word. The music here is incredibly dynamic and it’s amazing how many changes they put into these tracks – and yet keep it cohesive. Nothing here is over four minutes and sixteen seconds in length, but when you listen to these tracks you’ll find that hard to believe because there is so much in each piece. [Bedd Tracks] is an EP and as such is short. It’s also killer."
-Gary Hill, Music Street Journal
-Fix Sadler, Babyblaue-Seiten Prog-Reviews
"Bedd Tracks is a great example of what this band can do[;] all four tunes stand on their own, making you want more material from [The Living]. The music here isn't light fusion nor is it jittery, it's accessible with sensibility for the melodic pop/rock factor in mind, yet they keep the artistic focus front and center - it's a perfect balance."
Empfehlung!"
-Ingo Andruschkewitsch, Musik an Sich
"Amazing."
-Valentino Butti, Arlequins Progressive Rock Webzine

That would have been amazing to work with devin!! spewin it wasnt his own material, non the less...wow!!! i own that bleeding through album too, nice work on the violin btw
Devin would have to be my most favorite songwriter, i am completely and utterly entirely influenced by him, if it wasn't for him, i would never have ended up taking that sort of direction musically.
