Sounds Like
If Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention procreated with Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band and raised their child on Indie Rock, Lifeguard Nights would be that child.
Lifeguard Nights is an 11 piece rock band (if everybody shows up) from the NYC/NJ area, featuring beautiful harmonies, tight percussion and horn sections, and catchy sing-a-long tunes. Despite their brief existence, Lifeguard Nights have already played such legendary venues as The Bowery Ballroom, The Mercury Lounge and Maxwell’s, among many more. They have appeared on the popular late-night talk show The Dave Hill Explosion at the UCB Theater, toured the West Coast, and have opened for such great bands as The Knockout Drops, O’Death, Jupiter One and many more. Lifeguard Nights’ debut album “The Church of Song” was released on Headshop Records, and the stand-out single “Amen” was nominated for Song of the Year at the Asbury Music Awards. Most recently, Lifeguard Nights was selected as a finalist for CMJ’s Collegiate Nationals Championship. Production has begun on a follow-up to “The Church of Song”, and the new album is slated for release in Summer 2008, with a national and European tour to follow. It is safe to say the future looks bright for Lifeguard Nights. It is also lame to say that. But I went there.
hey lifeguard nights! finally had a chance to check out the newest tunes - sounding awesome! hope everything is well with you! (hi vincent!) caitlin(+theartofpersuasion)
oh shit. did it have something to do with the bar 9 show and everone running around wearing marco's sunglasses? i have a vague recollection of that evening. apparently i was cutting quite a rug.
Ah good ole Pointdexter...on one hand I'm almost happy he didn't impulsively spike his hair and bust out a violin solo on one of the few shows I had to miss.
Hi guys! You ROCK! Thanks for adding me. I wish you lots of luck with your upcoming gigs. Cathy :) "Keyboard Cathy" www.myspace.com/keyboardcathy www.keyboardcathy.com
