Life of the Mind was created in 1998 as a solo project for expressing my
own ideas and thoughts through songs.
The sound of Life of the Mind has been ever evolving throughout the
years. While being mostly electronic (or sequencer) based, mixed with electric
guitars and carefully placed samples, Life of the Mind also explores
the areas of dance beats, funky rhythms, hip-hop, acoustic strums, pop, new
age and modern rock. Let's just say that most two songs never sound the same.
Each new song is built entirely from scratch.
As with many other artists, I use writing as a kind of personal therapy for
myself. Music has always helped me through the hard and confusing times in my
life. It's also been a great outlet for expressing the happiest times too. I
write songs not only for myself but also for anyone else who can relate to the
sound and the lyrics. - Tom
