Since 2007, Life On Loan has been writing original material that deals with such subjects as love, loss, faith, confusion, and redemption.
The individual members of the band have all been playing instruments since high school, and have a wide range of experience--from formal instruction to freestyle, self-taught composition. Life On Loan has a lot of musical influences, but most of them come from two major sources...blues and rock. Those influences have come together to create a unique blend of straight-ahead rock which has yet to be pigeonholed into any one “sounds like” category by fans.
Life On Loan recorded a quick demo in August 2008 in an effort to begin booking venues in the Austin music scene, and can be seen on a regular basis at the Red Eyed Fly, where they have worked their way up from weeknights to weekend shows, with increasing numbers of fans. They are looking to expand their presence in the Austin music scene by playing more venues, and are also working towards recording a full-quality EP in the near future.
