Sous Life Recorder se cache d'abord un vrai dj passionné : Kriss Kortz.
Né en 1980, ce franco-arménien découvre la musique électronique en 1991/92 et débute le djing en 96. Ses influences, il les puise principalement dans une techno/house/electro, soul, mentale, et groovy venant de Detroit et Chicago. Ses principales réferences : Derrick May, Juan Atkins... mais aussi les inévitables leaders français Laurent Garnier ou Jack de Marseille et des labels come R&S et Basic Channel.
Depuis 2001, et ses premières expériences en club, jouant nottement pour le magasin de disque "Vintage records" à Annemasse, il s'est imposé comme une valeure sure et n'a cessé de travailler avec passion sa personnalité musicale et sa technique derrière les platines, offrant des mixs remplis de groove et d'éclectisme, ce qui lui à offert l'honneur de jouer ces dernières années en France et en Suisse voisine aux cotés de pointures telles Aux 88 et Underground Resistance, mais aussi Jack de Marseille, Deetron, Eric Borgo, Fabrice Lig, Vince Watson et dernièrement à Rome, invité par un des pionner de la musique electronique italienne Max Durante.
Boosté en 2005 par sa séléction parmis les gagnants du concours de remix "Controlling the House" de Laurent Garnier, il co-fonde avec son ami Maxx-t le label techno "Code 316 recordings", avec qui il sort 3 titres sous le pseudo de "Life Recorder" , dont le track "Modular emotion" (présent sur le Code 316 01, disque techno du mois dans le "Trax" magazine en octobre 2006) qu'on peux entendre souvent dans les dj sets de pionniers du son "Detroit", tels Orlando Voorn ou Dj bone.
Aujourd'hui, Kriss travaille morceaux et remixes pour plusieurs labels étrangers, tels "NightVision Records", écurie du légendaire producteur Orlando Voorn, ou pour "Night Drive Music" en Allemagne.
Début 2009, marque la sortie d'un Morceau sur la compilation du label "Soleil Records" de Peter Echoplex "Warsaw Admixture V", ainsi que 2 sorties orientée deep techno, sur les très bon labels, "Foutain Music" (Japon), et "Itinerant Records" (Australie) Supporté par Laurent Garnier, Derrick May ou Ken Ishii.
Passion... is the word that constantly comes out from Kriss's lips when he speaks about music. A passion still growing since 91-92 when after hip hop, this French/Armenian native, really discovered electronic music with Detroit techno and Chicago house touched by the magic sounds from Juan Atkins, Derrick May or Ron Trent and also attracted by sounds played by Laurent Garnier, or coming from Belgium and German scene on legendary labels like R&S and Basic Channel.
Starting djing and buying records at the age of 16 and playing his first set at a club in 2001, Kriss has been playing during the last 7-8 years at several respected clubs and festivals in France and Switzerland, recently in Rome, Italy, and has shared the decks with the biggest techno artists.
In 2005 he started seriously to work out his own music, motivated by the fact of being selected among the winners of the remix contest for Laurent Garnier's "Controlling the house".
After that with his friend and veteran dj, Maxx-T, he created the techno label dedicated to Detroit techno called "Code 316 recordings" and gave birth to his first production project : "Life Recorder" with a first track "Modular Emotion" which, like the whole ep called "The first message", was supported and charted by some big names on the Detroit techno scene everywhere, like Fabrice Lig (Bel), Santiago Salazar (Usa), Dj Bone (Usa), Jack de Marseille (Fr) or Mark Williams (Uk).
In 2007, he had a track selected by the techno legend Orlando Voorn for his mix "Session from the deep" on Claude Young's label "Cynet media", and later joined the "NightVision Records" artist roster. Also he started to work on remixes for such artists as Alectric (It), Tom Pooks (Fr) on the very good German label "Night Drive Music".
In 2009, on January he was under the spotlight by releasing a track on Peter Echoplex's new compilation, "Warsaw Admixture Series V" followed by 2 deep techno releases "The Urban ep" on the Japanese label "Fountain Music", and the "Process ep" with Ben Businovski on "Itinerant Records", which obtained a really good support from Laurent Garnier, Ken Ishi, Derrick May and others.
Now, Kriss just continues not being a hype follower and stays true by sharing emotions in his music and DJ sets. Music is also the way to live a true human adventure with the different connection over the musical road. Life Recorder has already his own sound...Techno, house or other ... by the way something deep.

After a more than deserved holidays, Overflow Records is back on track with the sixth reference, coming straight from one of the biggest names when it comes about Techno: Mr. Fanon Flowers, the raising star from Kalamazoo, MI, a place between two cities that marked the history of electronic music (Detroit & Chicago) it’s our next artist.
Producing techno since 1992, with a original style mixing the soul of house music with the syncopated rhythms of techno, creator of one of the best labels in techno like Mechanism Industries, Fanon Flowers is for sure one of the few that continues the traces of the original school.
The man just started a new label called Studio Sound, showing some jack trax in the Acid Kush EP.
With “Blue Dreams” we’re going to find a lot of that. Pure of that Chicago sound on the first two tracks that gives the name to the release, with a neat progression of layers, a journey to those days.
The third cut named “Stoney Island” it’s pure minimalistic techno track, where the dephts and darkness are merged together into this hypnotic rhythmics, almost like a tribal ritual.
