I Gain influence from 70's and 80's R&b and soft rock music and also early 90's hip hop. But to keep it all the way real things I see, things around me worldy, has had a very huge influence which draws inspiration to my music.
Lloyd "Life The Great" Musa is the first generation of his Sierra Leone family to be born and raised in the states, and he insist on incorporating his roots into his music. Like his people, he is no stranger to struggle. Presently struggling to make an impact in the rap game, his hit single "Hustle and Flow" Offers his testimony and encouragement. It is an anthem for every rapper in every city destine to live out their dreams, an it will serve as an inspiration to all. Life The Great has half the battle won because he is a rap star. He just hasn't been accepted by the masses, because they haven't had the pleasure of meeting him yet. As a partner in his own independent record label, Urban Acres Ent., Life The Great isn't waiting to sign a major contract. He didn't wait for an album budget either, he's recorded records for his debut titled 10 Months in This Gut, which outlines his life and times on his quest to be heard. The concept of his album is reminiscent of Kanye's College Dropout and Lauryn's Miseducation, with soundtrack like qualities and a cohesive flow. His pre album Ultra Sound is not only a trip down memory lane to a time when hip hop was fun, it also pays homage to the great MC's of that generation who our sometimes forgotten.
