Terra Sunder #3x a Lady's Interests
|
| General | My puppy!! Any animals for that matter. I'd be a vet if I wouldn't be crying all the time. Roller Derby!! I typically loathe organized sports and cannot believe I'm involved in one but it's more fun than I ever thought possible. I get to beat the crap out of a bunch of girls and take a pounding in return but at the end of practice everyone leaves as friends. I just wish I hadn't waited so long to join! We just started our 2 nd season, and everything is going beautifully. Look for us at Swonder's Ice Rink through the end of summer '09!!! I also enjoy spending time with the people I love most. Lauren fills a major void in my life and I love her with all my heart. She's the best friend I've ever had. My boyfriend is a sweetheart, and I adore him but he drives me crazy all the same. I love him always but sometimes hate him a little. More often than not, he just makes me laugh and that's what I really need. I love photography, concerts both large and small, reading a good novel or just a smutty magazine, high heels, old movies and music, soft blankets, cheese, and climates that never vary beyond 60-75 degrees (because I may be a rollergirl, but part of me is still a big wuss), adding to my mental rolodex of useless trivia, taking time away from everyone to clear my thoughts (or just relax enough to suppress any homicidal urges!), and attempting to make the most of my youth while I have it to squander at my leisure. Ooh, can't forget Halloween! It's my favorite holiday, it makes me smile. I love the decor, the spirit, the weather that comes with it, the parties, the candy, the creativity You get the idea I love high heels, old movies and music, soft blankets, cheese and climates that never vary beyond 60-75 degrees. Because I may be a rollergirl, but part of me is still a big wuss. I hate abusive people, being cold, the smell of pine or peppermint, getting up too early, men who hit on EVERYONE they walk by, people who refuse to listen to others' opinions regardless of whether or not they agree, people who feel the need to be rude to those around them for no reason (I know you're having a bad day. But now I am too. Thanks a lot, asshole), the Bush administration and people who get offended by everything. Get a hobby. | | Music | Those that rack up the most airplay include: The Reverend Horton Heat, The Misfits, The Murder City Devils, Flogging Molly, The Koffin Kats, Metallica, Elvis, Sinatra, Hank III, and Green Day.
I enjoy the infectious melodic renderings of my boys in the area: Ken Rex, HogLuvdog, Mask of Hate, and also Flat Rabbit and Gratis, though their fates are undecided as of late.
And for everything else that has found its way into my collection I feel something between a lingering interest and a deep-burning passion: Stop the Car, Devo, Tool, Type-O-Negative, Turbonegro, The Hellacopters, Jane's Addiction, Cheap Trick, Lacuna Coil, H.I.M., The Bloodhound Gang, Hank Williams I and III, Michael Buble, Pink Floyd, the Sex Pistols, Snake River Conspiracy, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Buddy Holly, Dropkick Murphys, The Street Dogs, The Briggs, Cradle of Filth, Nashville Pussy, Danzig, Dr. Demento, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Primus, occasionally I break out some OLD Metallica, Portishead, Stone Temple Pilots, Dimmu Borgir, Perfect Circle, Slayer, Tenacious D, White Zombie, Monster Magnet, Marilyn Manson, Tiger Army, Tori Amos, Theatre of Tragedy(thank you, La!), Sublime, Tiger Army, the immortal Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Reel Big Fish,Frank Zappa, Hayseed Dixie, Samhain, the Ramones. And of course, I heart Elvis long time | | Movies | Mixed bag. I like Hitchcock, David Lynch, Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Frank Capra, film noir, silent films, silly comedies, classic horror, cartoon favorites from my childhood, nothing made by George Lucas, anything with Steve Buscimi, Anthony Hopkins, Nicholas Cage or Johnny Depp(fuck you, he's hot AND eccentric)
A few examples, in no particular order: The Big Lebowski, Mulholland Dr., Badder Santa, House of 1000 Corpses, Gangs of New York, Fargo, Orgazmo, Tombstone, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original), The Devil's Rejects, Walk the Line, Gia, The Salton Sea, Death to Smoochy, Frailty, Edward Scissorhands, Memento, Things to do in Denver when you're dead, Office Space, As good as it gets, The Crow, The Wedding Singer, From Hell, The Birdcage, Sleepy Hollow | | Television | House! I love it, I know what they're talking about thanks to my medical classes, and for reasons I cannot explain I am undeniably and unstoppably attracted to Hugh Laurie. I am obsessed with The Office. I can't stop watching it, I love subtle humor and cannot fucking stand regular sitcoms that are so predictable that you know every punchline before they are spoken. Scrubs, just the first five seasons. Then the magic starting fading away. 30 Rock and the Oblongs. I love Twin Peaks. I was only drawn in a few years ago but now I can't stop. And goddamn you, David Lynch, for only making two seasons. That is rather unkind of you. I dig Reno 911, Chapelle's Show and Insomniac, among other gems of comedy central. The Man Show used to be the crown jewel of my tv time, but sadly seems to be an uninspired shadow of its former days in glory. That didn't stop me from buying all the old seasons on dvd. Adam and Jimmy were goddamned funny. Reality shows are not worth wasting enough energy to hate them, but I can find some comfort-no, sheer delight- in watching those idiots compromise every shred of dignity they'll ever have for a slim chance at their 15 minutes under the microscope, or better yet, an assload of the very cornerstone of our culture:cash! Thus my final point-all said and done, tv pretty much sucks a big one. | | Books | Anything filled with random trivia, non-fiction of every sort, art books (nothing contemporary, makes me vomit), horror, biographies, how-to's on activities I love or merely for my amusement, I own many books about Bettie Page, M.C. Escher (he's a genius, no one can argue that), several texts on history and mythology, and every Far Side and Calvin & Hobbes book ever published- as my inner child will not be denied or ignored | | Heroes | Bill Hicks, who opened the (third) eyes and minds of everyone who stopped to listen, all the while leaving me shrieking with laughter until he met his own bitter end. The truly enlightened ones never seem long for this life. George Carlin, who would say everything he believed and anything he wanted to with never a hint of shame nor offer of apology. The fact that he made every bit of it goddamned hilarious was merely a welcome addition to his shameless, spiteful tirades launched from a deep, bitter pit of anger that burns in his soul. These men have an insight I can identify with. Now if only oprah would fucking die already.... |

About me:
Normally I fucking hate pink, but this is one of the best slogans I've seen in years. Join the fight against breast cancer and reserve your right to squeeze a nice pair. THAT'S the American dream. Moving on...I'm a roller derby girl and I love everything about it, even the pain. I've never been in such good shape, I can snap your neck with one leg or at least knock you on your ass. ROSI's next big showdown will be at Swonder Arena on July 11th, 7pm, and this is a very special bout. ROSI will be hosting a tournament to raise money to donate to the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research. Tell every woman you love and every man who loves her. We skate for the cure and we need your help to raise money. Admission is only $6 ahead, $8 at the door to see ROSI live in action. ALL profits from this bout go straight to saving something every American hold dear: A nice set of boobs. Do your part, come to the bout and help us find a cure Currently, I'm happier than I have been in years. I'm engaged to a great guy. I don't believe in the 'perfect' guy, he'd probably be really fucking annoying because he knows he's perfect. I start nursing school in the fall, I can't wait, I think the way the human body works is disgusting and amazing and puzzling and I can't wait to be elbows deep into a human body! I have a dog, the light of my life. Her name is Mojo, I've had her since the day she was born, she's sweet, smart, a little neurotic, and the only child I ever want. I have a few very close friends and a large circle of great people that make my life more fulfilling. I am for the most part easy-going and I try way too hard to be funny. I can be impatient and bossy (mostly to Andy) and sometimes I'm pretty sure I know everything, but I try to keep it in check. I love all animals and I think all of them are good until the wrong person comes along. If I ever saw someone abusing a dog I would probably hit them with my car. Shame on you, I hope someone kicks your teeth out. I like animals more than people, obviously. I probably hate your kids. No offense, but most of them talk too much, smell funny or are too loud. I'm glad there are other people to keep the human race going, I'm too busy taking care of myself. I love high heels, old movies and music, soft blankets, cheese and climates that never vary beyond 60-75 degrees. Because I may be a rollergirl, but part of me is still a big wuss. I hate abusive people, being cold, the smell of pine or peppermint, getting up too early, the Bush administration and people who get offended by everything. Get a hobby.

Who I'd like to meet:
Witty characters with open minds who can enjoy my well-rounded yet deliciously warped sense of humor. Barack Obama. He's very charismatic, I like that quality in a leader. Every derby girl everywhere. Well, the bitchy ones need not apply, but I've met plenty of sweethearts and it's always a good experience. Oh, and this guy, Julian Beever
I like all kinds but I prefer those that like to laugh and don't waste time looking for things to offend them. I don't have enough time to spend on being angry at the world all the time. I like friendly, 'real' people and I hate drama. I like making new friends but I'm not here for romantic pairings or one night stands, so please don't try me, it's not going to happen.
