Music, live gig and band photography for the midlands of Ireland, dedicated to helping unsigned and undiscovered bands gain recognition and be documented. A small selection of photos are found in this profile. The remaining can be found at the website: music.lightholder.com.
Lightholder Photography :: Music features the work of myself, freelance music photographer Kimberly Lightholder, based in the Midlands of Ireland. After a lifetime spent involved in music, from being in a band, to helping promote other local bands, she has concentrated her photography into live gigs, bands and music events. Almost all freetime is spent pounding the pavement around the midlands of Ireland, capturing live gigs in an effort to capture the thriving music scene. Her use of available light and dynamic compositions has been utilised by multiple Irish Newspapers, circulations and countless band and music websites.

Lighting arrangements and wonderful venues escape me too you know, I struggle as much as the next fotog does in a crappy little venue. Creativity dries up quickly too eh - there's no surprise!
I'm lucky to have gotten into the good books of a couple of the larger venues here, which of course gives more scope for options but still we're at the mercy of wide open lenses and slow shutter speeds at high ISO! Practice and concentration and lots of it! I'm knackered by the end of a gig usually.
No plans for the midlands at the mo but sure you never know.. The nearest I'll get may be for EP but then that's hardly a crappy little venue, is it! That's currently tentative, have been invited to photograph some dance.
I just want to pull my hair out sometimes... It is the long delays that is really killing... Keep your fingers crossed that I will have some solid information by the end of the week...
Forgive you for what? You remembered in time, didn't you? ^_^ There's really nothing to...
Ahem. Actually you're right. This is terrible. Horrible. A complete disgrace. And you're going to have to work REAAAAAAAALLY hard to make me forgive you. Yes indeed. I expect to be showered with hugs and kisses and heartfelt apologies. Nyeh! :D
Thank you very much, Kim. Really. *Smooch* right back at you!
Hey Kim, well pete.courtney@gmail would be good if you wanna send them tah tway? oh, i got sean's voicemail about next sat this morning, i will give him a bell 2mrw sometime. ciao for now p x
Hi. Actually we met about four years ago in Nuts Corner. I was with Karen and you and Sean had a gig so I did know your name! Thanks for taking the photos that night. I didn't see them yet but Don e-mailed me the ones he took.
And a Happy 4th of July to you too... Let us not forget to send a note of thanks to our Grumpy Frenchman, for without the Grumpy folks over there, we would not get to put lots of fireworks in the air tonight... I think that we shall send some tea into the drink to night so that that damn stamp duty is not forgotten... Let Freedom Ring...
OhmyGods! Jennifer Love Hewitt just commented on my profile!! o_O
I AM working, young lady. You should know web surfing isn't a problem in my line of work.
However... Shouldn't YOU be a productive corporate worker and concentrate exclusively on the firm's interests, mmh? Don't those soul-munching be-suited vampires demand that you be a good little drone? Not that I'd be encouraging you to be one, mind you. Just curious! ^_^
