About me: We are the Lighthouse Young Adult Program! We exist for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, gender non-conforming and gender-variant, and straight allies ages 18 to 24 years old! We want to help transitional age youth...transition into adulthood successfully!
Our program uses youth empowerment, anti-oppression, youth development, and youth-adult partnership models to create a fun and exciting program for queer youth in Southern Alameda County.
Check out our weekly Drop-in Meetings Thursdays 6-7:30. These are social and supportive meetings. We also have guest speakers twice a month.
We also do community service, events, dances, and field trips. Come check us out and see what the buzz is all about!
A GREAT WAY TO MEET NEW PEOPLE AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS!
Who I'd like to meet: Young queers ages 16-24 (if you are younger you can come too) who are looking for a place to call home and who live in the East Bay Area.

About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D

Haha that's what I meant, "Inland Empire." As us city slickers go through it we think it's NOTHING. Just a bunch of cows or fields yet it is so wealthy...for some. For others, it's very NOT wealthy.
The worldwide media attention surrounding our massive grassweb efforts for gay rights has been tremendous. Join the Impact was a HUGE success and will continue to thrive because of our efforts.
We've reacted to anti-gay ballot initiatives in California, Arizona Florida, and Arkansas with anger, with resolve, and with courage. NOW, it's time to show America and the world how we love.
Gay people and our allies are compassionate, sensitive, caring, mobilized, and programmed for success. A day without gays would be tragic because it would be a day without love.
On December 10, 2008 the gay community will take a historic stance against hatred by donating love to a variety of different causes.
On December 10, you are encouraged not to call in sick to work. You are encouraged to call in "gay"--and donate your time to service!
December 10, 2008 is International Human Rights Day. CLICK HERE to join us, and search or add to the list of human rights organizations that need our help RIGHT NOW.
If you are a non-profit in search of volunteers on December 10, 2008, post your info here, or email us at info@daywithoutagay.org, and we'll add information about your group.

When: Saturday November, 1st, 2pm-5pm Where: On Whipple Road and Dyer Street in Union City, by Union Landing shopping center (near Walmart, Century 25 movie theatre, and Borders, it is also down the road from Target), off the Whipple and Dyer St. exit from 880. What we would be doing: Holding signs, showing the public that Prop 8 in unfair, unjust and wrong. At red lights, we would hand out info of what Prop 8 is all about (believe it or not, there are still people out there who have not made up their minds yet, or don't know about Prop 8-and we REALLY need to reach them before the Yes on 8 people do.) Bring: Smiles, signs, clappers, whistles, drums, megaphones and most importantly friends, family, children!
About a week ago, 30 teenagers were spotted at this very intersection holding Yes on 8 signs. Let's show Union City what the East Bay is all about!
PLEASE FORWARD THE ABOVE INFORMATION TO ALL YOU KNOW IN THE EAST BAY who may be interested. Thanks and I hope to see you there!
(And real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning, tattoos, piercings and silicon breasts)
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay.
(In the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall)
3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior.
(People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. Lamps are next)
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all
(Hence why women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal)
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed
(And we can't let the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage be destroyed)
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children.
(So therefore, gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our population isn't out of control, our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children)
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children
(Since, of course, straight parents only raise straight children)
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion.
(In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America)
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home.
(Which is exactly why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children)
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms.
(Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans)
Re-post this please if you believe love makes a marriage.

I'm moving back to Hayward on August 19th or 20th, yay! This time in a condo down the street from campus, with my Circle K friends. Before then, I'll be in Denver for about two weeks and then Anaheim for a week for conventions. I'll be in super-debt after that, but that's okay, I'm used to it!
