Lights Going Out was formed in April 2006 as part of the Weekend Warriors programme organised by GuitarBase, a music shop in Nottingham.
Since then we have been gigging regularly playing everything from Johnny Cash to The Jam. The band name in fact is taken from a lyric in The Jam’s "That’s Entertainment". We have played a number of Charity and fund raising events over the last year - the audio on the site was recorded at a recent Birthday party we did at the Boat Club in Nottingham. If you are planning an event get in touch - we are happy to consider most things
More recently we have started writing our own material - some of which you can hear above - and we intend to introduce it in future sets. These are still early days. But we’re having great fun. The lights may be going out, but as Dylan would say, "It’s not dark yet".
We've got a couple of cover songs up, just as temp for now. Gonna get them re-recorded, but check them out, we'd love to know what you think of them. :] x x x
OK, the song writing is going really well with Neil once again coming up with some real gems! The latest song added is "The City's Finest Furniture Store" and the recording is only the second time Peter has actually sung it! The mood at the session captured a very Oasis-feel about it! LOL!. More superb drumming by Tom Ball and some interesting tones in the mix with Ken's new baritone guitar. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it!
A couple of new songs from rehearsals, featuring Tom Ball on drums, have been put up on here. Ken's moved his songs to www.myspace.kenbainmusic to make space for them - give his and Neil's (www.myspace.neilhorsley) sites a visit.
