In a nutshell, I'm Melanie. I also answer to Mel and Meli. I'm twenty-one, a Yankee stuck in the South, an Aquarius, and an adopted Jew. I'm single, working full time, and happy with where I am (for now).
I consider myself pretty down-to-earth and relatively outgoing. I'm not quiet, but I'm not loud. I'm not exciting, and most of the time I'm not boring. I hate posing for pictures. I hate dead space in conversations. I tend to have about two to three close friends rather than a million acquaintances. I've never had one friend I would tell absolutely everything to, and I think it's because I've got a bad habit of looking back and regretting nearly everything that comes out of my mouth.
I love writing, and I love music. At any given point in time, I've got a novel in the works (even if I've only really finished one), and I'm also in the (long) process of learning to play the guitar. I love the concept of time travel, and I dont' like Nicolas Cage. I'm a night owl and a cat person, and I don't think I have an accent.
I'm running out of things to say about myself, so if you want to know something... ask!
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins
And there the grass grows soft and white
And there the sun burns crimson bright
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
Shel Silverstein
