Acomb Music, in association with Likemind Promotions, Rob Scott of
Discerning Images Photography, York TV, Where In York website, The Talk
magazine and many other partners and bands, organised a series of
fundraising concerts in memory of Paul Hunter, the Leeds snooker star
who
died of cancer in 2006. All proceeds raised went to the NET patient
Foundation. The concerts were held at Cert 18 and The Junction in
York
on Saturday May 26th, Sunday May 27th, and Monday May 28th. Many
genres of
music were covered from hip hop to metal. Many thanks to all those
bands, venues, and service providers who have already offered their
talents
and services. If you would like to be involved in future event, please get in touch

Hi there, my name is Sharon and I'm a promoter in York. I've worked with many bands from across the country into promoting them into the York Music Scene. The way I work is that I'm a non-profit promoter, apart from my expenses ie posters/flyers and the sound engineer, I divide all money received from footfall between the bands on the night. That means all bands WILL receive an equal share of the money made on the night. Obviously I ask the bands to do their bit by advertising the gig as much as they can and if they can bring any fans that's even better. I provide all posters etc for the bands too. I hope this is satisfactory to you as I only want to promote bands that are unsigned and want to play in York and that I can help with profiling them into the York music scene.
