I'm a lot of things, including a student, a rider, an artist, and broke. Sometimes I only feel the last one. Horses aren't just a hobby for me- they're my passion. I love my state, but I think that I'm quickly reaching a point where I'll need to leave it. I love learning, teaching, and talking. I try to be open minded, but I know that it's impossible to be truly open minded- we all have some bias, but I want to understand why those biases exist.
I've been told on several occassions that I'm a decent artist. I do comissions of people's pets especially horses, so if you're interested, check out my album in my photos and shoot me a message :)
I know! I'm like that too - I prefer mares over most geldings. They just have more... I dunno, spunk I guess, than most geldings have. But you know, the few times I've gotten to really work with stallions, I noticed they had that "spark" most geldings seem to be missing, you know? I adore well trained stallions, but hell if I'm going to go through all that!
Hey! I've had her for 2 years now. She is so good at everything (better than me!) that she makes me want to do everything, but she really is an amazing little cow pony when it comes down to it. I really just wanted to do trails, but she's just so awesome I think I want to get into reining. I swear, she can turn on a dime.
Ya, I did PC. Never got up to my C rating though; at the rating (held at my farm) the rater tried to make me jump a cross country fence my instructor specifically told me I wasn't ready to jump, so I refused to jump it. The rater kept arguing with me about it, until I finally pulled Lew around and galloped away from her... I didn't go back :x

The bareback idea was mine. Baby is super green but is crazy sensitive to your weight and leg aids. So I decided I would try it and see what she thought. She loves it. And I love it because it's how I learned. I didn't take lessons as a child--not until I was 16 actually. But I would sneak into my neighbor's pastures and climbed aboard bareback from the time I was 3 on. They had a tiny pony. ;)
I do make some crazy faces. Or rather my mom just doesn't bother to tell me to smile. ;) And the big bay is actually Merlin! He is my mentor's 4 year old Friesian X Clydesdale gelding. He moves so well, and jumps like a fiend. =]
lol how is your horse now? hat kinda horse do you have? i have no vids of me riding but then i guess thats partly due to a mother who is HIGHLY allergic to horses
I show in equitation with him. We just do schooling shows and we have done a couple C's. He gets nervous and excited when we jump at shows and the courses for the equitation classes are much easier than the jumper ones, I will really need to be in complete control of him.
He gets a little hyper schooling before classes too. I would be so pissed if someone ran into me though. Just like them people cut me off and everything. haha
The first one is may 16th. I'll let you know if I end up going to it. It will definitely be a different experience. My only real concern is that Gus will get too out of hand. I'm thinking about maybe a stronger bit but im not sure yet :-/
