Good for Joel with his label American Line Productions, increasingly doing releases of North,Central and South American bands, and re-releasing some albums, and thus giving a greater degree of diffusion. In the case of the second album of Bolivian band Lilith, was a damn good idea. In the Bolivian capital of La Paz, this band had already released in 2001 "The Conquering Of The Eternal Wisdom" an acclaimed debut album, and held at numerous gigs in Bolivia and Peru. Originally published in 2007 for the first time, the successor work "Monolith" was a long-waited album, and is a huge step forward, its mix of Symphonic Black Metal Doom and other influences, in no way behind European bands such as Dimmu Borgir which certainly had a big influence - and Cradle Of Filth or Katatonia, and not to hide Emperor. A somber mood - the perfect way to the mystical and occult texts, and the perfectly matched images in multipage booklet fits (Could I look at the address of the dark-haired beauty in the lyrics "Ceremony Of Blood And Lust"?).
The entire album is very dynamic, and blends well with the bombastic keyboard passages, the fast furious riffing, or the powerful vocals of the frontman Christopher Fletcher. The eighth song, "Equinox," stands out somewhat from the dance show, but the track sounds somehow experimental and playful, with a hypnotic riff, while the other parts have a basic melody of European Power Metal.
Since presentation and production standards are high, I see no reason not to give this album 8.5 points.
8.5 / 10 – SBR
"MONOLITH" Review in METALGLORY MAGAZINE (GERMANY)
……LILITH play epischen Bombast Black Metal broadly put on, in approximately so similarly, as it the early Dimmu Boron Greed practiced, but this is only a rough reference point, because LILTH create it own structures and individual trademarks to establish in a flash.
The pieces on “Monolith” are throughout very darkly, perfectly through-composed and in music over each doubt raised. Schwelgeri passages with hotter Krächzgesang are just as represented as fast parts of the rather rougher urnorwegischen sort.
Just as little to be missing naturally beautiful out-curving melodies, which mill themselves immediately in the heart and into the brain cortex, may do melancholische Klavierintros, December duck of key board carpets in the background and orchestrale sections.
Best just the saying illustrates equal the piece Number three, “Full Moon Pleasure”, a wonderful soil compactor, which has everything - from the majestic Intro over an ingenious reef up to a Cradle of Filth similar orgiastischen Kakophonie offers absolutely everything that desires the Black Metal heart to this TRACK, and which on highest songwriterischem level!
Next absolute high light is oscillating over 7 minutes for a long time the “Master of Chaos”, a wonderful Black Metal didactic drama of old school, always between raw rage and schwelgerischer Symphonik - the reef reminds me of a HETROERTZEN Song and a Christophers voice accumulates krächzend and keifend to the maximum form.
“Warriors From The Dark Side” has a marvelous basic melody and reminded in the slower passages nearly already of classical Heavy Metal.
Also the remainder that altogether 10 Songs can convince on very high level in recreating way and always variedly on the whole line.
Still a few words to the sound: This is surprisingly well - transparency and fat; at any time on the height of the happening - surprisingly, because one would not expect in one of the poorest countries in the world necessarily!
On lilith..s Myspace are two expressionful hearing examples realized volume homepage!
Since “Monolith” is very cleanly produced and on whatever level always the comparison with the releases from Europe or North America does not have to shrink from under any circumstances, quite consider I an objective evaluation possible, however under the premise that I take off a half point of embarrassment - thus unterm line remains 8 points for a bear-strong symphonisches Black Metal album from rather unusual Gestaden.
8.0/10 Points of WARMASTER (to 22.05.2007)

LILITH - ILLIMANI METAL FESTIVAL (La Paz, November 2008)
BIOGRAPHY OF LILITH (BOLIVIA)
Since the very beggining, LILITH was always considered by many as the best exponent of the unknown and dark bolivian underground scene. LILITH begins in the middle of the 99.. in a cold full moon night, with the following line- up: Marcelo Trigo (Drums), Christopher Fletcher (Vocals), and Pedro Ascarrunz Brinati (Guitar). They were coming from two respected Bolivian Metal bands (Effigy of Gods and Aneurisma). They knowed each other since 5 years ago, so the chemistry was already made.
They started working on a few covers, but the enormous passion existed by composing own songs, they worked in 2 own songs in August of the 99.. with Black-Death influences, and also with Doom influences.A bass player entered in November of the same year, he is David Cabrera (Bass), Pedro knowed him since a few years, he was the bass player from Aneurisma, and he is the LILITH..s current bass player.
In that time they were playing covers of Hypocrisy, Dismember, Katatonia, Oldman.. s Child, Marduk, Dimmu Borgir, etc. The need of keyboards was evident, and they recruited two school mates called Boris Algarañaz (keyboards), and Huáscar Corvera (2nd Guitar), giving more stability and trust to the band. The live concerts begun, and LILITH shows in live all their energy and passion for the metal and the occult arts. At the ending of the 99.., more compositions were already achieved, and also more presentations.
In the beggining of the 2000, Boris Algarañaz and Huascar Corvera left the band for personal matters. LILITH stayed then without keyboard player, but not for it stops the work of composition. Then after a long search, they remembered an old friend from the neighborhood, and also a LILITH..s fan, then they asked Boris Barroso (keyboards) to join the band, he was the keyboard player since january of 2000 until the firsts months of 2004.
The live presentations were with more frequency, and with total support of the scene of La Paz and the entire bolivian scene. They toured Bolivia once, towns like Oruro and Santa Cruz were the most brutal gigs! Another well remembered show was with Kranium (Peru). in La Paz.
In the middle of 2000, enough songs for the recording of their debut album were already made, and they recorded their brilliant debut album called "The Conquering of the Eternal Wisdom" between July and August of 2000. This work is a brand of Black/Doom Metal, with a lot of feeling and occult poetry……You can find desolated passages, infernal gates to hell, dark ambients and cold mist from the Ancient Titicaca Lake….
Their debut CD album "The Conquering of the Eternal Wisdom" was recorded and produced entirely for the band, with help of nobody, nevertheless the sound is of excellent quality, as well as the artwork (Beautiful pictures showing darkness falling down, the Ancient Titicaca Lake, The Inca Trail (Takesi), desolated Sun and Moon Islands, and Uyuni..s Salar), the cover and the booklet of 12 pages is in full-color, with band..s photo, professional logo, lyrics, etc.
The drums were recorded at OMNISON Studios (La Paz - Bolivia) by Carlos Huancaña, and masterized by Boris (Keyboard), the rest of the instruments were recorded at THE WOLF.. s LAIR Studios, owned by Boris (keyboards). All the mix and masterization were made by Boris and LILITH. It was hard to the band to produce entirely this CD. It is a quite technical work, fast and at the same time melodic, a masterpiece of Black/ Doom Metal.
In the beginning of 2001 they went to a tour in Peru, touching with their mystic music some Peruvian towns, after this the band gained a good reputation for their live shows, those energy-charged and dark concerts….
After a long time (June of 2002) the CD debut was profesionally reedited (finally) by American Line Productions (Mexico) and Infernum Records (Bolivia), 1000 copies for the entire world, so they are distributing the CD in all America, Europe, Asia, etc.
This reedition obtained good revisions in fanzines, magazines and labels around the world, showing that in South America exists many good bands. The band entered in Mp3.com and showed that in Bolivia the occult arts are present. Aproximately 1000 listeners have downloaded the 3 most required songs of their debut CD: The Conquering…..Pt.II, Confessions, and Strange Sadness in your Soul. Of course in Mp3 format.
The band continued after the years playing in their native country, and they are still supporting the whole South American scene. In the middle of 2003 the band traveled again to Peruvian lands to play in a great Metalfest, which gathered bands like Psicorragia, Disinter, Lilith, and many others.
In the beginning of 2005 (January), they set a studio by their own, to record firstly the drums of the 2nd LILITH..s professional work. It took 3 days to record the drums. Between march and april the rest of the instruments were recorded at BLACKHEART STUDIOS (owned by Pedro), and Boris and Pedro did the mix process of this CD. They are 11 songs, a most professional and mature musical and lyric work, the CD is entitled “Monolith” and sure will be one of the best productions of 2007.
The line up is the same for the recording, Boris left the band but he is still supporting LILITH. Martin Velasco (Keyboards)entered in February 2004, he was playing the keys, but the band decided to substitute him by Omar Garbay (Keyboards) who is an excelent keyboard player. For the production of the second CD they took a period of time to finish their professional studies at the University, most of them are working now, and Pedro has a son. They continued after all this years playing in their native country. The most remembered shows were Bathory..s Tribute, with bands like Hakavitz and Anton (Mexico), Lobotomy (Argentina), Orange Man Theory (Italy), and many festivals in Bolivia with important local bands.
In 2006 the band toured Bolivia once more, and Perú too. But in the last months, Omar Garbay and Marcelo Trigo left the band because of personal matters, like studies or family. They were replaced by Fernando Guillén (Drums) and their old friend and keyboard player Boris Barroso.
In January 2007 LILITH performed in Arequipa, Perú (Metal Rebelion Fest) with important peruvian black and doom metal bands like En las Espesas Nieblas and Crimson Death. During all year LILITH played with many foreign bands like Ancient (Norway), Hedor (Columbia), Silent Devotion (México), Unheartly (Brazil) all presentations were in La Paz, Bolivia. They shared stage also with bolivian bands in La Paz and El Alto, some of these bands are Nordic Wolf, Electro Violence, Chullpa, Metástasys, Infernal Malice, Amduscias, At Syncrony, Black Warriors, Ahriman, Nekrokristo, etc. In June LILITH was invited to the winter Rocksticio at El Alto when they played with important bolivian bands as Wara and Octavia.
In 2007 LILITH also released an split CD named “Metal desde las alturas" with Infernal Malice, recorded and mixed in Blackheart studios (La Paz) and produced by Undermetal Records (Perú).
In march of 2007 the new and awaited album “MONOLITH” was released independently as the debut album, it was presented in april in La Paz, Bolivia.
In 2008 LILITH marked its presence in the Illimani Metal Festival held in La Paz, Bolivia and was selected for the concert that closed the festival in November 2008.
In June 2009 his second album "Monolith" was re-released worldwide by American Line Productions from Mexico.
With a new line up the band is now working on their third masterpiece.

Now look here, we have another premiere on these pages: LILITH, the first ever band from Bolivia to get a review from out mad bunch! Melodic Black Metal it says in the info and fearing the worst, I braced myself, just to get surprised. Very positively surprised, I may add!
Sure, the production is not the best, but if you see that Bolivia is not exactly known for its high tech studios and stuff, this is something I won't hold against them as much as if they were from Western Europe or North America. But musically this La Paz-based quintet surprises with a very variable form of Melodic Black, in more ways than one, which is not the pinnacle of the genre, but shows some true potential that I for some reason would not have expected.
I know, of late many of my reviews deal with expectations I had and that did not "come true", but where the reality was different. Well, what should I do? I can only tell you folks what the CDs do to me, heh. Anyways, LILITH mostly use the typical Black Metal voice, but they also bring in some more or less spoken word passages, which mostly coincide with calmer breakdowns in their songs, which altogether brings us a really nice sense for dynamics and some traditional Metal riffing, as in "Towards The Limits Of Death And Passions" comes surprising, but fits very well indeed!
The two-part title track "The Conquering Of The Eternal Wisdom" also brings us a nice dynamic mix of blasting and calmer passages, while "Strange Sadness In Your Soul…" not only features some excellent traditional riffing and double bass, but also for the first time the clean vocals of guitarist Pedro Ascarrunz Brinati, which adds very nicely, before the quiet piano instrumental "Last Mirror" lets the album flow to an end…
Surely there are better bands in the genre, bands with more experience, with a higher budget and all. BUT… LILITH's debut is a refreshing album, which does not only follow the beaten path, but allows itself to stray at least a bit, bringing in calmer breakdowns, a little clean voice, interesting arrangements and all, which to me is something that many of the bands from the Metal-wise more populated and more acknowledged regions cannot claim and that is something that gives this quintet from Bolivia a big plus with me! (Online June 29, 2003)
There once was a time in the land where the sun was worshiped as god and its embrace with the moon made the earth hold its breath as time stood still in silence, and at that hour the smothered sun shall cloak the whole world in the dead blackness of midnight giving birth to the Element Of Eclipse.
