Privilege Walk/Symposium - Feminist and intersectional aspects on contemporary art.
September 6th-7th, 2008 Organizer: The YES! Association Privilege Walk/Symposium is a collaboration between the YES! Association and Lilith Performance Studio. The symposium will highlight feminist and intersectional aspects on contemporary art; art production as a politicized situation, the notion of quality and representation.
The invited speakers and workshop leaders/moderators are Kuratorisk Aktion – a feminist curator group, Angela Dimitrakaki – writer and lecturer in Art History, Vanja Hermele – gender theorist, Paula Mulinari – researcher in Gender Studies and Economy, Athena Farrokhzad – writer and queer activist, Victoria Kawesa – feminist within the anti-racist movement and PhD candidate in Gender Studies, Jeuno JE Kim – artist, Ellen Nyman – actor and activist, Mujeres Publicas – an activist -and artist collective.
Board of Directors of the YES! Association are the artists Malin Arnell, Åsa Elzén, Johanna Gustavsson, Line S Karlström and Fia Stina Sandlund (hiatus).
The association works with questions regarding gender equality, forms of organization, feminism and art politics.

ELIN LUNDGREN - BACK IN BAYS ARMS, Part 1. Gustav Adolfs Torg 11 October
Elin Lundgren founded Lilith Performance Studio 2007 (before Teater Lilith 2001-2006) together with Petter Pettersson (visual artist), they together are the artistic leaders of Lilith. Elin started out as an actress and director. This will be her first workingperiod in the studio.
The works of Elin Lundgren point to the most important issues of human existence: identification, identity and transgression. She acts in the realm of cultural taboos referring to stereotypes and behaviour in the context of social life, and conventional standards of beauty. Her performances are often built up like film scenes, beautiful, abstract and poetic but driven by intense, confrontational content and a raw absurd humour.
The idea to initiate a performance studio came from Lundgren’s and Pettersson’s collaborative work with Lundgren’s piece ”Rogerdockan, Elvisdockan & Tigerman” in spring 2006, and from organising the non-linear festival Lilith by Night three years in a row. Fuelled by the freedom from rigid theatre frames, the freethinking about art and the unexpected meetings that occurred, Lundgren and Petterson decided to continue exploring performance in Lilith Performance Studio.
Lilith Performance Studio
is the first combined production studio and arena for performance an Europe. Since the start in January 2007 we have presented 31 swedish and international artists in 13 solo productions and one performance festival: Lilith by Night.
