The story of LilyJets is the story of three golden voices. Its also the story of great talent, long lasting friendship and patience and perseverance above and beyond the call of duty. Perhaps most of all the latter

Lisbeth (born 1983, influences: Hanson, Aerosmith, Tracy Chapman, Alanis Morissette) started singing and writing music at the age of 10.

Kine (born 1984, influences: Hanson, Aerosmith, Tracy Chapman, Alanis Morissette sound familiar?) did the same. Lisbeth and Kine have known each other since school, and shared the same interests in music and singing. About 5 years ago, they met Tinki.

Tinki (born 1984, influences: Jewel, Tracy Chapman, Alanis Morissette do we detect a pattern?).

The three shortly started writing songs together, and in a few months had plenty material. Two of the songs that have ended up on their debut album, to be released later this year, were written by Lisbeth and Kine at the age of 13! Three more have survived from their first sessions, before they turned 16.

After writing and singing together for about a year they were discovered by Bonnier Amigo Music Norways A&R, who quickly recognised their talent and signed them more or less on the spot. It doesnt take a math professor to figure out that some years have passed since then. So what has happened since the recording process started almost 3 years ago? As mentioned, these girls are patient, and are they ever perfectionists! Instead of rushing things like most teenagers with a record deal would have done, and releasing an album right away (God knows they had the songs!), they wanted to make sure they had a GREAT album. Anyone else in their situation would have been aching to see an album in the shops as soon as possible. Kine, Lisbeth and Tinki wanted their debut to be something they could be proud of for years to come.

Then theres the slight matter of their name. While the album was being recorded in New York, London, Stockholm and Oslo with various renowned musicians and producers, they never thought about this. All of a sudden someone asked So, what are you called? Uh Several monickers were tried on for size, but every time they seemed to settle on something there seemed to be another band with the same name, or other complications. Dont ask. Eventually they settled on Lily Jets. The name fits them perfectly smooth, but still rough, feminine yet rockin.

Fast forward to 2005. The album is recorded, the world waits, the girls are ready! The song Going Blind is about to be serviced to radio. Driven by catchy semi acoustic guitar chords and sprinkled with lush vocal harmonies, its the perfect introduction to Lily Jets. Perhaps a tad more melancholy than some of their other songs, its still a song youll be hard pressed to get out of your head after a listen or two.

Looks like this will be Lily Jets year. Well deserved. Theyve waited for it.
