Lily Savitch Boutique is housed in a beautiful art deco building in the heart of the shopping district on La Brea Avenue. The Nolita-style shop-meets-loft space favors great style and impeccable quality over passing trends, and carries a treasure trove of classic brands such as Grey Ant, James Coviello, Steven Allen, and Karen Walker, as well as emerging artisan brands like Richard Ruiz and Spring & Clifton.
After living in New York for several years, owner Lily Savitch had the vision of translating the unique feeling of Nolita boutiques into an intimate shop that was compatible with the Los Angeles market. “Boutiques in Nolita fit their neighborhood in Manhattan,” says Lily. “I chose La Brea not only because it fit my store concept but because it’s the next go-to destination for women in search of fresh and stylish clothing.”
The interior space boasts 14 foot ceilings, walls lined in chic, matte black wallpaper with gold-leaf print, and steel blue concrete floors. Lily hired artist Chris Bettig to fashion racks and shelves from raw walnut planks that soar toward the ceiling, emphasizing the natural light and height of the structure. The second floor, dedicated to lingerie and resort dresses, is a cozy window-lit area with plush cream carpet and a pair of mid-century modern chairs nestled together. For a touch of old Hollywood glamour, the space is embellished with deco-style crystal chandeliers, vases filled with ostrich plumes, and shimmering gold drapes pulled back to reveal softly lit dressing rooms reminiscent of a starlet’s private boudoir.
Quality, design concept, and wearability are the key elements Lily looks for when bringing designers on board. Staples include Chaiken’s classic pants, Cacharel’s summery dresses, Steven Allen’s fitted button-down shirts, Rozae Nichol’s ethereal silk tops, and Jill Stuart’s flirty lace cocktail dresses. Alongside recognizable designers, Lily enjoys introducing clients to exciting new finds like Marcello Toshi’s beautifully constructed and fashionably ironic, 40s-inspired heels, made by a Peruvian shoe cobbler; Sydney, a line of fine gauge cashmere dresses, tees and cardigans, designed by Max Azria’s nephew; and Grecian-themed metallic thong sandals by Matt Bernson.
In addition to women’s clothing and footwear, Lily Savitch Boutique carries an array of costume jewelry, accessories, and gift items including candles and hand-sewn novelty pillows.
