Sheri's Interests
|
| General | I have many interests, too many. My favorite things to do are sing, perform, and attend plays and concerts. I've had classical voice training, largely for musical theater. Although, I'd love to sing in a metal band before I die. Singing karaoke will have to do for now. I'm in love with my handful of friends. They are placed all over the country and a few overseas. Okay, maybe I have two handfuls of friends. They are all my life.
I LOVE LIVE BANDS. I am lucky enough to know some really great musicians.
Some of the most influential singers to me are Geoff Tate, Matt Barlow, Bruce Dickenson, Damond Jiniya, Dave Mustaine (I know I know), Sarah Brightman, Pamela Moore, Jon Oliva, Rob Halford, Freddie Mercury and many more.
My other love is acting. I've been performing in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" almost 14 years. In 1995-96 I played the part of "Janet Weiss" every Saturday night for 78 weeks straight. I only missed one performance because I was in England, although I did attend Rocky Horror in London that night. I love to guest perform with my friend's casts and in Conventions all over the country. My "first" part is obviously Janet, but I play 6 other characters as well. I also perform in "Shock Treatment" the "equal" to Rocky Horror as "Nurse Ansalong" and "Janet Majors".
Let's see... I love pictures, either taking them or being in them. I like to write, I have two tons of poetry on my website and then a bunch on paper and napkins and anything else I could get my hands on when I felt inspired.
I have documented most of my life through pictures, video, poetry, diaries and journals. I'd like to write a book or two before I become ashes.
I also absolutely love nature. I can spend hours strolling around or sitting on the ground watching birds, squirrels, rabbits and any other critter that may come by.
If you want to know anything else about me... JUST ASK!!
Lilystcyr's Rocky Horror Picture Show & Band Site | | Music | Music is a huge part of my life. I like going to as many concerts as I can. I love 80's metal. Not the hair bands, but 80's METAL! Although, I'm finding that 80 hair metal is growing on me (no pun intended). Some of my favorite bands are Queensryche, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Savatage, Iced Earth, Slayer, Judas Priest, Suicidal Tendencies, Seven Witches, Bronx Casket Company, Overkill, Sepultura, Korn, Avenge Seven Fold, Sex Pistols, Queen, Misfits and lots more. Then there are a handful of friend's band's that I adore. | | Movies | Powder, Edward Scissor Hands, Moulin Rouge, From Hell, Instinct, Immortal Beloved, Elizabeth, Kevin Smith Movies, Aristocats, Napoleon Dynamite, Reefer Madness, Raising Arizona, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Shock Treatment. | | Television | Roseanne is the greatest show ever. I wish they would release every damn episode ever made. Futurama and King Of The Hill has really grown on me! I really don't watch a lot of TV... | | Books | Before rattling off books... I like to read biographies/autobiographies, usually about musicians or serial killers. I've always liked Clive Barkar... Books: Go Ask Alice, A Rulebook For Arguments, Sammy & Rosie Get Laid, Drawing Down the Moon, To Ride a Silver Broomstick, Earth Path, The Book of Practical Cats, The Great and Secret Show, Principia Discordia, The Catcher In The Rye, All Quiet On The Western Front, Diary of a Drug Fiend (need to finish that one!) la la la... | | Heroes | My Daddy, even if I wasn't his daughter; I would find him amazing. He is a survivor by far... far more than me, but I know where I got it from :)
My Neurosurgeon, Dr. Peter Jannetta - He has dedicated his entire life to helping Trigeminal Neuralgia patients (like me). He pioneered Microvascular Decompression Surgery in the 1960's. I met Dr Jannetta in June 2009, after reading about him for 4 years. I know he is one of the greatest men I will ever meet in my life. When he shook my hand I grabbed on with both hands and wouldn't let go. I had MVD surgery on 6/4/09, but it was a failure. This is fairly common since I have Atypical TN and Atypical is SO much harder to treat. On 7/23/09 he went back inside my head and did a Partial Sensory Rhizotomy of the Trigeminal Nerve. To date (12/24/09), I am healing and may not be fully healed until the summer of 2010. No matter what the outcome, Dr Jannetta will still be one of my heroes. To date, he has performed approximately 8000 successful MVD surgeries. He has also taught over 100 other neurosurgeons how to perform this procedure. Trigeminal Neuralgia is a very rare condition, and the patients afflicted travel from all over the world to seek help from this wonderful doctor. I've seen countless doctors because of this condition and no doctor comes close to my Dr. Jannetta! |

About me:

Has an intense personality. Has more love for her family than they will ever know. Believes everything happens for a reason, even if it doesn’t make sense at the time. Does not believe in hate. Gives everyone a chance, then a second. Wishes people would get to know her before making a judgment. Tries always to be as honest as possible. Is grateful that she was given a second chance at life. Depends on the Universe and karma to take care of all situations. Believes the truth always comes out. Won’t kill anything unless it is suffering. Loves all animals. Is human and makes mistakes. Has learned not to avenge. Is very aware that there are many people whose lives are so much worse than hers. Forgives a little too easily. Will never mistake money and excitement for love. Keeps promises. Is easily approachable, even if you may have wronged her in the past. Tries to take care of the world and to be a mother to every living creature. Never forgets when something nice is done for her.
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
I suffer from a rare cranial nerve disorder called Trigeminal Neuralgia or "tic doloureux". I have Atypical TN, which means I have pain all the time and get attacks as well, it affects the left side of my face. It causes intense pain in any or all of the following: the ear, eye, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, teeth and jaw. TN can bring about stabbing, mind-numbing, electric shock-like pain from just a finger's brush of the cheek or spontaneously without any stimulation at all. It is known as the worst pain known to medical science. It is often dubbed "The Suicide Disease", as many people who suffer from it for a long time end up committing suicide.
I've had symptoms of this disease since 2004 and have had 7 relevant surgeries. From June 2009 to October 2009 I had neurosurgery twice and cryosurgery once. We'll know more results of the surgeries by summer of 2010. My plan is to start a Cranial Nerve Disorder Awareness Campaign someday, since this disease is very often misdiagnosed and treated improperly, hence the suicide. There has to be a reason for the agony I've gone through, so I'm going to try and help others who are also suffering through this.
My website is Lilystcyr's Rocky Horror & Band Site. There are tons and tons of pictures of me performing on the site. The site is old and I built it while teaching myself from a book, so don't expect something fancy. I don't have to time right now to spruce it all up. I don't use the blog here at myspace very often, but I have a Live Journal. Just go to Lilystcyr's Live Journal. You can also find me on Facebook. That should cover the "About Me" section, well except for my deep dark secrets :-P

Who I'd like to meet:
*Jack The Ripper
**Dave Mustaine - Been trying to meet him since I was 15. I've met the rest of the band, I think the man hides from me.
***Slayer - I've been to lots of their shows, but never with people who wanted to stay and meet them afterward. So, I haven't tried very hard to meet them. I did get a cheap thrill performing on the same stage I once saw them perform on when I was 16, a decade later.
