Lily is an atmospheric and suspenseful tale of love, loss, and obsession. A successful young man, haunted by the death of someone close to him, is lured into a Faustian business arrangement with a mysterious stranger. Desperate for salvation, he must strictly adhere to a bizarre set of terms that will test the very fabric of reality, and may carry with them the ultimate price. At its core, this piece examines the sacrifice that all true desire carries with it, and how far people are sometimes willing to journey from themselves in order to find peace.
Starring Peter Facinelli (Can't Hardly Wait, The Big Kahuna, Riding in Cars With Boys) and Maggie McOmie (George Lucas' THX 1138), and paying homage to such classics as 2001 and The Shining, this movie employs powerfully heightened visuals and layered sound design to weave its haunting story. Witness the unique experience that Oliver Stone calls, "intriguing” and “strong in its symbolism”. “In a boldly surreal film, Daniel Boneville confidently directs the actors, the camera, and the story, while showing his potential as a fine, young director."

Who I'd like to meet:
DIRECTOR BIO
Award-winning director Daniel Boneville is an exciting and intense young filmmaker that holds a BFA Degree in Film and Television from the legendary Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, graduating with the top of his class and completing all scholastic requirements a year early. Since then, he has immersed himself in strong learning environments - ones that have allowed expansion upon both his technical craft and industry knowledge.
As assistant to the NYU film industry liaison, Daniel had the opportunity to meet and work with some of the biggest names in the film industry. This job was balanced out with several production positions on features in the Tri-State Area. As a result of these employment experiences, Oliver Stone personally invited him to work at his company Ixtlan in Los Angeles.
Independently, Daniel has written, directed, photographed, and edited several films and documentaries; being an experienced piano player and student of music, he composed the scores for these projects as well. After Yearn was accepted into the New York Short Film Festival and well received on both coasts, he was able to mount Lily - his most ambitious movie yet.

How did this bright-eyed Tennessee girl cross paths with the mysterious true New York film genius?! A long overdue message about a few things (when do I ever have just one thing to say?!)...The movie. Brilliant layers of symbolism, intricate detail in every scene, the prelude to future masterpieces...I eagerly await. The iPod. Ummm, I love it. It will inspire 26.2 miles of sheer athleticism (ha!) in my NYC marathon endeavor:) . Wine-infused Tuesdays on the terrace....when will you extend your Italian hospitality again? I'll bring the southern drawl and the Grappa...don't be a stranger:) . XOXO
Oh Danny Boy, It is actually long overdue that I write you a little message because I actually sat down and watched the movie all the way thru ( I even made it through the gore in the first scene!:) you should be proud! you are one talented, actually brilliant guy. I still hope one day you will let me have atleast some small inkling of involvement in one of your movies... costume designer maybe?? our line is coming along... I can't wait for you to see it!
I'm not quite sure of the specific varietals of narcotic you ingested whilst creating said "Lily", but were you a gentleman, and were I back in my Navy days - I would happily procure the number of your connection for all those rainy nights in Paris. I look at you, and I see me. I look at this movie, and I weep with dread behind a shroud of hope. Interesting and somewhat peculiar stuff (but where's the narrative hook you shot-crazy bastard?!?!?!). Tee-hee...just joshing you silly, sly Italian. In all seriousness, it's as if you rooted your visual approach in Cubism, as opposed to just straightforward storytelling. I had to rewatch this film a few times before actually ingesting how much is on the screen in certain scenes. I must also admit that at other points, an eerily seductive fear arose within me, where I found myself staring at my shoes to shield the disturbing images of an old woman with black eyes stomping her way around Facinelli Town. Speaking of Facinelli, I've officially decided to grow a beard in his honor. Anyway, I'm proud, and I very much look forward to this next larger movie that I've heard many a whisper about up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Promise me a role, and out futures will finally be intertwined. It's going to be a good year for the Roses, as many blooms do indeed linger here.
Hola como estas mm... bueno espero entiendas lo que quiero decir jaja me gusto tu pagina excelente trabajo ;) que estes bien besos bye! gracias por el add...
Daniel, all I can say is, I hope to be there when you win an Oscar.... you are a writer, great with words, but I am better with music (ie my comment is just not destined to be amazing as yours!!!) but I am captivated! Sophiexo
Daniel, Your piece is very intriguing. I am not sure what to make of it yet, all I know at the moment is that you are very talented. You got my attention right away from the beginning, and held it throughout the movie. That is a good thing. Your movie is replete with symbolism, metaphors, motifs, allegory, you name it. Although at times I was not sure where you were taking me, I surely felt a certain way. And that’s what movies are supposed to do in general, making the audience feel a certain way whether it is good or bad. You definitely achieved that. The visuals are very powerful. Nice use of color and black and white. The fast paced editing was appropriate and increased the tension even more. Mysterious and powerful music, which set the mood. Nice twist when the guy shoots his lady, which was unexpected, somewhat I would say. However your movie could be shortened a little bit. I felt like some of the scenes were a little too long. Once we get it you need to move on. Regardless you got your message across. I believe you have a lot of potential. You delivered on Directing, Cinematography, Editing, and Sound including music etc, the major aspects of filmmaking. You’ve got the whole package, my friend. I am looking forward to discussing your film further, the nitty gritty. Boy, you did it! Keep up the good work and never let anything stand in your way! All the best,
It was a privilege and a pleasure to spend a day on the Lily set and witness the directorial genius that is Danny Boneville. Since then, I've been fortunate enough to share a connection with Danny that is indescribable, yet strong and lasting.
Lily is surely one of many masterpieces that we'll see from Danny, and I can only hope to witness the making of another of his movies in the future.
Congratulations! Your awards are well deserved and many more will follow, I'm sure
Hey I checked out "Lily"... heartbreaking and brilliant!!! I've actually never seen a movie quite like it, and I seem to notice more and more nuances with each viewing. I also watched the blog clips from your previous movie "Yearn", which were crazy, but really beautiful as well. I saw that not only did you write/direct, but you also shot, cut, and scored all this...the level of detail is quite impressive, and you should be very proud!!!
When I first sat down to watch Lily, I fully expected that the next 30 minutes of my time would be taken up by a simple cut and dry short film. Pressing play however, my eyes narrowed slightly, and I suddenly realized that this wasn't just any short film. This film demanded your full attention, and it got mine right from the beginning.
Daniel not only captivated me with the aesthetics of the film, but also with his unique talent for telling a story. It was nothing short of AMAZING!
After viewing the masterpiece that is 'Lily', there isn't a doubt in my mind that this is only the beginning for this gifted young director. I truly look forward to his future endeavors.
Hey Daniel-Your movie Lily sounds AMAZING!!! When will I be able to see it in theaters in NJ? Keep up the great work and best of luck with your future projects! Please stay in touch... Maryann
I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet you guys when your film earned Best Short at this year's Hoboken International Film Festival. Seeing Lily the first time, I was captivated by the unique way in which your story was told. You guys are all so exceptionally talented, and insanely humble people. I enjoyed watching Lily again and having discussions/arguments about the film. I know I am not alone in saying that I am looking forward to your future endeavors and I wish you the very best!
Guys like Danny Boy aka THE BONE don't come along often, and it's been my honor to help facilitate a project as unique as "Lily" - one with balls enough to be crazy and yet still compellingly beautiful. This movie had a rough birth, and despite the thousand different ways it could've failed, our director not only brought it home, but gave it a production value that looks at least three times higher than what it was actually made for. Danny writes poetry with pictures and sound, and doesn't compromise his work; in a world of mediocre standards, that's something to be admired. There's also no better person out there to simply sit down and have a great meal with. As for Facinelli, the world has yet to see just how much this guy can bring to the table...haunting work. Well Bone, the future beckons, and the show must go on. Just know that when it comes time to go to the mattresses, Larko will be in your corner.
