A seguito di numerose richieste di concerti di Limbo teniamo a specificare che LIMBO è una band non più attiva dal punto di vista live dal 2001. Lavoreremo di volta in volta SOLO ED ESCLUSIVAMENTE su progetti di ristampe o antologici.
LIMBO was an influential eclectic music project created in January 1984 by the Tuscan artist
Gianluca Becuzzi - still one of the most important personalities on the Italian electronic / electro-acoustic and experimental scenes.
Since 1984
LIMBO has released twelve LPs, plus two mini albums, one box-set and one tape. They also appeared on various compilations and performed live many times in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Over the years,
LIMBO frequently changed record labels, line-ups and musical styles, but always maintained strong dark and electronic elements.
Characteristic of the band’s whole artistic approach was its exploration of rhythm / timbre, as well as the highly dramatic mood created by both the sound and the themes examined (i.e. technology and mysticism, science and neo-primitivism, thanatology and extreme erotic practices).
The aesthetic quality, its conceptual and formal coherence and the continuity of its developed languages, all helped to create the “cult” status that still surrounds the name
LIMBO on the international underground circuit.
In September 2006 the re-born
Spittle Records (the Tuscan label which originally released the debut mini-LP
"IN LIMBO" back in 1986) asked the disbanded
LIMBO if they could release all the band’s early material, including its first demo-tape, its first mini-LP and a small collection of tracks that have resurfaced from within the label’s vaults.
Spittle's inquiry results in
"Early Works (1984-1987)", a double-CD including a digitally re-mastered and polished version of the whole musical production of
LIMBO in its early years.
The entire audio work was provided by
Diego Loporcaro (aka
D. Loop), electronic musician/producer, member of
LIMBO during its last period of existence, and producer of
LIMBO’s last album,
"Compendium: The Light Fall".
The complete artwork is by
Gianluca Becuzzi and
Marco Formaioni: the two created the artwork for the band’s first demo-tape (1984) and mini-album (1986), and the entire graphic concept of
"Early Works (1984-1987)" is based on the original visual material used in these two early releases.
Although
LIMBO ceased to exist some years ago, it left an indelible mark on the international underground music scene.

Gianluca Becuzzi, tuttora considerato una delle più importanti personalità della scena elettronica/elettroacustica e sperimentale italiana.
Dal 1984
LIMBO ha pubblicato dodici album, due mini-album, un box ed una cassetta, è apparso in varie compilation e si è esibito numerose volte dal vivo in Italia, Germania, Svizzera ed Austria.
In tutti questi anni
LIMBO ha cambiato frequentemente casa discografica, formazione e stile musicale, mantenendo riconoscibile un forte approccio oscuro ed elettronico.
Tratto distintivo dell'intero corso artistico di
LIMBO è la ricerca ritmico/timbrica e il carattere altamente drammatico sia del mood sonoro che dei temi trattati: tecnologia e misticismo, scienza e neoprimitivismo, tanatologia e pratiche erotiche estreme.
La qualità estetica, la coerenza concettuale e formale così come la continuità dei linguaggi sviluppati, hanno determinato lo status di "culto" che circonda il nome
LIMBO nel circuito underground internazionale.
Nel settembre del 2006 la rinata
Spittle Records (l'etichetta toscana che pubblicò nel lontano 1986 il mini-LP di debutto
"IN LIMBO") chiede agli ormai disciolti
LIMBO di pubblicare tutto il loro primo materiale: il primo demo-tape, il primo mini-LP ed un piccolo gruppo di brani riapparsi dai magazzini sotterranei della label.
La richiesta della
Spittle dà come risultato il qui presente
"Early Works 1984-1987", un doppio-CD che include una versione digitale rimasterizzata e ripulita dell'intera produzione musicale di
LIMBO nei suoi primi anni.
L'intero lavoro audio è stato realizzato da
Diego Loporcaro (alias
D. Loop), musicista/produttore elettronico e membro di
LIMBO durante gli ultimi anni di vita del progetto e produttore dell'ultimo album di
LIMBO dal titolo
"Compendium: The Light Fall".
L'intero artwork è stato invece realizzato da
Gianluca Becuzzi e
Marco Formaioni, i quali originariamente curarono le grafiche del primo demo-tape (1984) e del primo mini-album (1986): l'intero concept grafico di "Early Works 1984-1987" è basato sul materiale visuale originale utilizzato in queste due prime release.
Nonostante
LIMBO abbia cessato di esistere alcuni anni fa, ha lasciato un segno indelebile nella scena musicale internazionale underground.
