Nari's: (dance related) Russia, Eastern European culture, learning, creating, and pushing myself (right over the edge-splat!); (not dance related) French wine, the Classics, Michael, toe socks, and finding someone to do my laundry.
Obsidia: (dance related) Bellydance of ALL types, gypsies, Eastern Europe, Russia, Vaudeville, ever expanding knowledge, joy and creation in this artform! (non dance related) friends, family, art, my son Kendal, my furkid, Hannah the cat, movies, music, good laughs, better drinks.....
Music
Our preferences for performance music generally revolves around Eastern European sounds, big band and classics from the 30s-40s as well as more traditional Middle Eastern music. Some of our favorite bands are Beirut, DeVotchKa, Gogol Bordello, Balkan Brass Band, Circus Contraption, Fanfare Ciocarlia, A Hawk and A Hacksaw, The Toids, Upper Egypt Ensemble.....and the list goes on and on...
Our class music includes the above styles and more...we pretty much believe if it makes you want to dance, it's good music!

Drawing from European, Middle Eastern, American, and African influences to create a unique and authentic voice in bellydance, L’imprevu infuses beauty and mirth into every performance.

We have a combined 22 years of dance experience with the last 5 years of it exclusively in Bellydance. Nari's bellydance background includes studies in American Cabaret, Egyptian, Turkish, ITS and Tribal Fusion. Obsidia's bellydance background includes studies in American Cabaret, ITS and Tribal Fusion.
We also have backgrounds in theater allowing us to create unique theatrical performances that harken back to the vaudeville shows of yesteryear. We combine technique with sauciness and a bit of comedy.
Classes will be forming in both Houston and Bedford (Mid Cities area) will be forming in May...details coming soon....
There will also be June workshop details coming soon. The workshop will be held at Obsidia's home studio, "Vagabond Salon", in Bedford TX and limited to 7 participants due to space.
Nari is beginning a monthly community hafla at Avant Garden called Vagabond Bellydance..Details are posted!!!!!
