London International Music Show 09 : The Best Music show Ever!

The spectacular London International Music show is back for its second year at the world class ExCeL exhibition centre, London Docklands June 11th to 14th 2009. The all encompassing music show is the biggest of it’s kind in the UK and incorporates four exhibitions including Drummer Live and London Guitar Show, Unplugged and Sound Recording Technology.

Featuring world class rock stars, an exhibition of the best music instrument brand names and a host of exciting seminars and activities, this is the ultimate day out for anyone interested in music. From professional to amateur, classical to heavy metal, student to teacher, over the four days, the show offers real hands on experience to try, hear and see everything to do with making, recording and listening to music.

With a 3000 capacity arena, top artists confirmed to play the show include master Guitar Virtuoso Steve Vai who brings his Alien Guitar Secrets master class to the show, Grammy award winning guitarist Albert Lee, UK guitar legend Phil Hilborne with his band featuring Iron Maiden’s Nicko McBrain. There will also be the critically acclaimed band, Swans in Flight with special guest bass players Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake) and the King of Metal funk, TM Stevens (James Brown,The Pretenders), plus the final of Guitar Idol, the world’s biggest online talent search to find the hottest undiscovered guitarists on the planet. This years star studded line-up of drummers includes Nick D’Virgilio (Tears for Fears), Jamiroquai ‘s top drumming and Percussion duo, Derrick McKenzie and Sola Akingbola, Prince’s drummer and bass player, Josh & Cora Coleman-Dunham, Mark Richardson ( Skunk Anansie), Steve Smith (Journey/ Vital Information) and Iron Maiden’s Nicko Brain together with leading multi-percussionist Pete Lockett (Jeff Beck/ Robert Plant/Peter Gabriel etc ).

Music For Youth (who organise a nationwide series of festivals and concerts) are hosting the UK's greatest festival of music learning on June 12th at the show, called MFY Friday, where over a thousand piece band will premiere a new piece of music conducted by composer Tim Steiner at the BiG GiG.

New to this years show, will be a chance to have a free music lesson with Tech Music Schools and the Sound on Sound magazine will be hosting a series of seminars with a stella line-up of top name producers as well as running a prize draw to win a dream studio worth over £22,000! Other workshops include learning the top 10 Riffs of all time with IGF’s John Wheatcroft and come and see Primal Scream’s Drummer, Darrin Mooney puts himself through an incremental drumming test to exhaustion whilst wearing the latest ‘state-of-the-art’ sports science technology, with the Clem Burke Drumming Project. There are instrument demonstrations and a host of artist signing sessions including Steve Diggle (Buzzcocks), Cameron Pierre & Darren Taylor of the Courtney Pine Sextet, Blues guitarist Oli Brown and many more.

The exhibition features over 200 of the most famous instrument manufacturers displaying the coolest new innovations and the most exciting gear the music world has to offer.Covering state-of-the-art equipment to dream instruments, acoustic to digital, recording to stage equipment, software to sheet music and educational courses to accessories. The show brings together the world’s top manufacturers who together have already confirmed more seventy new products will be launched at the show, with some of the products highlights being displayed on the Stuff magazine’s Innovation Stand, plus there’s a new retail section offering the chance to buy the very latest gear.

The LIMS show brings you more buzz, more excitement and more things to do than you can shake a stick at. Quite simply, if you love music, you’ll love this!
