Born in Dirranbandi, SE Queensland, Australian musician Caroline Hammond (Lina) is a guitarist, singer, composer and lyricist of insight, honesty and earthiness, equally influenced by gospel, African 'hi-life', blues, coffeehouse folk and vocal harmony.
In her early twenties, intensive study in afro-cuban percussion lead to work with many and varied ensembles. Carolines' sensitive 'latin-based' percussion improvisation & natural sense of vocal harmony has enabled her to work in such musically diverse genres as pop, rock, funk, latin, blues & Irish bands and has given her the opportunity to share the stage with inspirational players such as Barry 'Little Goose' Harvey, Craig Claxton, Jorge Rico, Ovidio Orellana, Suzanne Hibbs, Jeff Usher & more recently fellow singer/songwriters Mic Travers & Nigel McTrustry.
Caroline joins forces with guitarist/producer - Craig Claxton, bassist - Kevin Howard and drummer/percussionist - Suzanne Hibbs, a rhythm section drawing on many years of experience in the local and national music scene for her debut CD - 'Songs From Three Stories Up'.

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
Hey there my friend. If you are down this way next weekend come and catch up at Currumbin RSL on Saturday 25th July - am doing a show there from 7pm in the main bar.
Hey there, Here's one from left field... Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat? A while back I came across some very disturbing information, which inspired me to make this video: Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4 Both artistic (ensure you've good enough sound to enjoy the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice. Though the source materials are somewhat aged, the fundamentals remain relevant today. I encourage all to visit the YouTube web page above to learn more (Show your support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly re-post and circulate as widely as possible. Help to raise awareness. Say have you checked out my web site (http://www.faberoptime.com) recently? Take care and keep in touch. Best, Faber. "Just a guy trying to make the world a better place."
