Bio
Music meets philosophy and poetry. Lina Quesada was born into a household of two sociology professors and a world of ideas and philosophy that she learned to love at a very young age. At the same time a natural talent for music was developing and these two elements finally collided in her song writing, which began at age 7 with songs for school musicals and family performances. At age 20, Lina moved to Toronto Canada by herself, with a handful of original songs and an acceptance letter from the renowned Humber College music program. Constantly immersed in a musical environment and drawing inspiration from the music and talent around her, at music college Lina had the opportunity to learn from and even jam with talented and established names in the Canadian music scene, like Rik Emet, Shannon Gun, Blair Packham and Rick Lazar. After briefly fronting the band "Sweet Thursday" with producers Todd Dafoe and J. Miller in 2003, Lina returned to her own singer songwriter project teaming up with some of her musician friends from college and some established names in the industry like producer Ron Lopata (Julie Black, Ron Sexsminth) and engineer Vic Florencia (Joss Stone, Nelly Furtado) to record her demo CD in 2008. More recently Lina has been working with producers Byron Wong (David Usher, Beck) and Mith Girio (Emma Lee) to record her latest material, currently a work in progress. Lina resides in downtown Toronto where she spends her free time reading about politics or philosophy or enjoying Toronto's art and music scene, which continue to inspire and contribute different ideas, shapes and colours to her creative endeavours. ...... -
